When someone can’t get into NomNom Web, it’s nearly always the wrong sign-in page, an email address where a username should go, a locked account, or a password they’ve never been given. Here’s how to spot each one. Most of the fixes need an Admin.
Are they on the right sign-in page?
NomNom Web has two main sign-in pages.
- app.nomnom-app.net is for owners and Admins, and only takes an email address. Type a username there and you’ll see Enter your email address. If you sign in with a username, use your team’s link instead.
- Your team link is app.nomnom-app.net/c/ followed by your team code. It asks for a Username or email, and shows your business’s name under Sign in.
Your team link is behind the Sign in to NomNom button in your NomNom welcome email, and in the email you can send each person (see Emailing a member of staff their sign-in details). It’s also at the top of People & Access, under Team sign-in link, with a Copy button. Ask your team to bookmark it.
Username or email address?
Standard and Read-only staff always sign in with their username on your team link, even if they have an email address. Only Admins can sign in with an email address. Staff who type their email just see Invalid username or password. or Invalid email or password.
Not sure of their username? It’s in the Username column of Users in the admin portal. People & Access shows it under their name, after @.
What the message means, and what to do
- Too many failed attempts. Try again in 15 minutes. Five wrong passwords or one-time codes in a row lock that person’s sign-in for 15 minutes. Wait, or reset their password (below), which unlocks it straight away. When the 15 minutes are up they get one try: another wrong password locks it again.
- Invalid username or password. for someone you’ve just added. People added in People & Access have no password until you give them one. Open them and click Reset password, then pass on the one-time password it shows, or email it to them.
- Invalid username or password. for someone who used to get in. Check their Active switch is on in People & Access. If it is, reset their password.
- Your account doesn’t have access to any venues. Tick at least one venue under Venues on their page in People & Access and click Save changes.
- Team code: followed by letters, where your business’s name should be. The link is mistyped or out of date. Use the one from your welcome email.
- Too many attempts — please wait a few minutes and try again. Lots of tries from one internet connection. Wait a few minutes.
In NomNom Web: account menu → People & Access → click the person. In the phone app: Settings → People & Access → tap the person.
Their first sign-in: choosing a password
After signing in with a one-time password, they’re asked to Set a new password: at least 8 characters, typed twice, then Update password. If that page says the link has expired (it lasts an hour), they click Back to sign in and use the same one-time password again. It works until they’ve chosen their own.
Forgotten password
Forgotten your password? on the sign-in page emails a reset link that lasts an hour, but only for Admin accounts. For anyone else, an Admin resets it with Reset password in People & Access. Or they can get straight in with Sign in with a one-time code — see Signing in to NomNom Web with an emailed code.
Good to know
- Computers only. NomNom Web won’t open on a phone or tablet — see Why can’t I open NomNom Web on my phone or iPad?.
- Signed out unexpectedly? Closing the tab, or 12 hours without use, signs you out. See Using NomNom in your web browser.
- An older venue link, ending /r/ and a code, still works for usernames.
- The phone app signs in differently, with a device code. See Signing in on another device.
