Emailing a member of staff their sign-in details

The quickest way to get someone started on NomNom Web is to email them their sign-in details. One click in the admin portal sends them your team’s sign-in link, their username and a one-time password, and they choose their own password the first time they sign in.

This is done in the admin portal. People & Access can reset a password too, but it shows you the one-time password to pass on rather than emailing it.

Send someone their sign-in details

1. Open the admin portal. In NomNom Web, open the account menu (your name, top right) and choose Admin dashboard. It opens in a new tab, already signed in. If it asks you to sign in, use your email address and password. The admin portal is for Admins only.

2. Click Users in the menu down the left. Each person is listed under one venue, their main one. If you run more than one venue and can’t see them, use Switch venue at the top of the page.

3. Add their email address. In the Email column, type it into Add an email, then press Enter or click elsewhere on the page. It saves by itself. Each address can only belong to one person, so an address someone else already has gets That email address is already in use by another user.

4. Click Send web login. The message asks you to check the address and warns Their current password will stop working. Click OK.

5. Look for the green message. Sign-in details sent to their address means it’s gone. It sends straight away, so it should arrive within a minute or so.

What they receive

An email from NomNom with the subject Your NomNom sign-in details. It has a Sign in to NomNom button that opens your team’s sign-in page, with the address written out underneath, plus their Username and a One-time password.

They sign in with that username and one-time password, choose a password of their own (at least 8 characters), and go straight into NomNom. Admins can type their email address instead of the username if they prefer.

Good to know

  • Their old password stops working as soon as you click OK, not when they open the email. Don’t send it to someone halfway through a shift.
  • No email address? Click Reset password on the same row instead. It shows a temporary password for you to pass on. Reset password in People & Access does the same.
  • Send web login is greyed out. Either they have no email address yet, or their address is shared with users at other venues. A shared address means only NomNom support can issue them a password.
  • Their password was reset, but the email could not be sent means exactly that. Click Reset password and give them the code yourself.
  • Only they get the one-time password. You don’t receive a copy, so keep their address up to date.
  • You can send it again at any time. Each send makes a new one-time password and cancels the last one.
  • Once they have an email address, they can sign in with an emailed code if they forget their password. See Signing in to NomNom Web with an emailed code.
  • It’s for NomNom Web. For the phone app, use Generate code on the same row. See Signing in on another device.
