Devices & platforms

Which devices does NomNom work on?

NomNom is a mobile-first app. It runs on:

  • iPhone (iOS 15.5 or later)
  • iPad
  • Android phones
  • Android tablets
  • Chromebooks that support Google Play apps (most models from the last few years)
  • Macs with Apple Silicon — any Mac with an M1 chip or later (late 2020 onwards)

Windows isn't supported yet — see "Can I use NomNom on a Windows PC?" below.

Does NomNom work on iPhone and iPad?

Yes. NomNom is a free download from the Apple App Store and runs on both iPhone and iPad (iOS 15.5 or later). An iPad makes a lovely reservations-desk device — a big, clear screen, light to handle, and it just works.

Does NomNom work on Android phones and tablets?

Yes. Download NomNom from Google Play and it runs on Android phones and tablets alike. An Android tablet on a stand makes an excellent, affordable front-of-house device.

Can I use NomNom on a Chromebook?

Yes — as long as your Chromebook can install Android apps from Google Play, which most models from the last few years can. Install NomNom from the Play Store exactly as you would on an Android tablet. A Chromebook with a keyboard can be a comfortable, affordable option for a reservations desk.

Does NomNom work on a Mac?

Yes, on Macs with Apple Silicon — that's any Mac with an M1 chip or later, which means models from late 2020 onwards. Open the Mac App Store, search for NomNom, and you'll find the iPhone/iPad version, which runs natively on Apple Silicon. Older Intel-based Macs aren't supported.

Can I use NomNom on a Windows PC?

Not at the moment. NomNom is built mobile-first, and today that means iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, Chromebooks, and Apple Silicon Macs. We're looking into Windows support, but we don't have a timeline to share yet.

If your team works from a desk, the easiest route today is an iPad, an Android tablet, or a Chromebook — any of these gives you the full NomNom experience and sits neatly on a reservations desk. You can read more about the devices we support and why we're mobile-first.

We take bookings at a reservations desk. What do you recommend?

A tablet on a stand is the sweet spot — an iPad, an Android tablet, or a Chromebook. You get the full app, a big clear screen for your diary, and a device that looks after itself. Many venues keep one at the host stand for walk-ins and phone bookings, and let guests book themselves through their branded web booking page to take some pressure off the desk in the first place.

Is there a website login, and what can I do there?

Yes. There's a web portal at nomnom-app.net (the Login link, top right) for managing your account. From there you can see which devices are signed in, generate access codes to add new devices, top up your SMS credits, and manage your subscription and billing.

Taking bookings and setting up your restaurant are done in the app itself rather than on the web. If you'd like a web login, just get in touch and we'll set one up for you.
