For Cornish restaurants, pubs and cafes

Nine places within five miles of Padstow
already take their bookings this way.

NomNom is a restaurant booking system, and it is written in Padstow. Fifteen Cornish venues run on it — from Trevone Bay to Penzance — and you can walk into most of them and ask how they get on with it. £29.99 a month per venue, no commission, no contract. The person who writes it will come out and show you it himself.

Who is already on it

Every one of these is a live NomNom customer, not a pilot and not a logo we borrowed. Their own websites are linked from our customers page.

Why there are so many here

Because this is where it is written. NomNom is built by Kernow Software, from Padstow, and it started with the venues we could walk to. Word travelled the way it does in a county this size — one landlord mentioning it to another — which is why the map has a cluster in it rather than an even scatter.

That is not a marketing story. It is the reason we can say things a national platform cannot, and mean them.

I will come to you, and show you myself

I am Graham. I wrote NomNom, I still write it every day, and I answer the support emails. There is no tier one, and there is nobody for me to escalate you to — which cuts both ways, and is the honest reason I would rather meet you than send you a brochure.

So let me come out and run you through it properly. An hour, at your place, at a time that suits your service rather than mine. I would set it up as your venue while I am there — your rooms, your tables, your Sunday lunch, your actual opening times — because a demo account full of invented bookings tells you nothing about whether this fits the way you work.

And ask me anything. Whatever your question is — what happens to your data, how the deposits work, what you do if you lose the internet mid-service, what it does badly — you get the answer from the person who made that decision, on the spot. Not "I will check with the product team and come back to you."

If it turns out NomNom is not right for you, that is a perfectly good outcome and I will say so. You will have had an hour of somebody looking properly at how your bookings work, which is worth having either way. No follow-up sequence, no pressure.

— Graham, Padstow

And who answers at seven on a Saturday night

Same person. Same county. Whether it is a genuine fault or a table plan that needs changing twenty minutes before service, you get somebody who can actually do something about it — not a ticket queue, not a chat window that opens on Monday, not an account manager three time zones away who has never seen your dining room.

The same goes for the ordinary things. Nobody here needs telling that the second week of August is not the week to be changing anything, or that a wet Tuesday in February is a completely different business from a wet Tuesday in July. We are busy the same weeks you are, and quiet the same weeks you are.

Things in here because a Cornish venue asked

Not roadmap items a product manager thought of. Each of these exists because somebody down the road needed it.

Closing a room out of season. Shutting the restaurant but keeping the bar on, without unpicking your whole table plan and putting it back in March.
Different notice for different services. Sunday lunch that needs two days' warning while midweek dinner takes a booking at five to seven, set per meal rather than one number for the whole week.
Dog-friendly tables. Which specific tables take a dog, so the coast-path booking lands somewhere that works instead of being a conversation on the phone every single time.
Seasonal opening that actually changes. Times, meals and closures per room and per season, because half the venues here trade a completely different shape between October and Easter.
High chairs as real stock. A hard cap per sitting, because you have four of them and August does not care.

Small enough to answer. Not small.

The fair question about buying software from someone down the road is whether they will still be there in three years, and whether the thing is properly built. So, plainly:

NomNom runs venues from Padstow to Aberdeen — Devon, London, Plymouth and Dumfries too. It takes card payments and deposits through Stripe, it is bookable directly from Google search and maps, and it has a public API that third-party EPOS vendors build against. It runs on a browser, an iPad, an Android tablet and a phone, and the diary is the same one on all of them.

It is a proper piece of software that happens to be written in Cornwall. Those are two separate claims and both of them are true.
