1.0.8Beta
Bookings & floor plan
When a guest asks for a particular table, tick “Requested table” on their booking. A small padlock then appears wherever the booking is shown, and the table can't be moved or swapped by accident during a busy service — untick it first if you do need to reseat them.
Coming in the next update
Approved and on its way to the App Store and Google Play.

Follow-up emails
A brand-new follow-up email that reaches your guests after their visit — a warm way to thank them and invite a review. Email Settings now splits neatly into Confirmation and Follow-up tabs.
Choose when it goes out — as soon as an hour, two or four after the visit, or 24 hours, 48 hours, 3 days or a week later.
Add your own header and footer wording, just as you can for your confirmation emails.
Add your Google and Tripadvisor review links, so guests who had a great time can leave a public review in a tap.
Send one by hand, too — open a booking's Messages tab and tap Send Email to resend the confirmation or send the follow-up invite (offered once the visit has passed).
Your own confirmation emails
Design your own confirmation emails — build a reusable library of email templates, each with its own subject line, welcome message and footer, and preview exactly how each one will look before you use it.
Attach a template to any meal or event, so a special sitting like a tasting night or a Christmas lunch can send its own bespoke confirmation, while your everyday bookings keep the standard one.
Getting started
A friendly welcome tour for new team members — a quick walkthrough of the essentials the first time you open the app, followed by a live pointer to the menu and the New-booking button, so it's easy to find your feet.
Bigger screens
New Display Size setting — make everything in the app larger, from text to buttons, in one tap. Perfect when NomNom runs on a desktop or a big front-of-house screen. Pick from 100% up to 150%; the choice is remembered per device.
Arrivals & reports
Print or share your arrivals list — a new Actions button on the main screen opens a preview of the arrivals report for the day, room and meal you're viewing, ready to print or share straight from your device.
Show or hide cancelled bookings from the same Actions button.
Bookings & floor plan
Set how long a table is held while searching for availability — pick a duration from 30 minutes up to 2 hours, or leave it on Default to let NomNom work it out, to see exactly which tables are free for the window you need.
Allergy, notes and dog markers now appear on the timeline (Chart) view — the same little icons from your booking list, so you can spot special requirements at a glance without opening a booking.
Refreshed timeline blocks — softer, colour-coded blocks that are easier to read, while still keeping each party clearly separated by colour.
The timeline (Chart) view now stretches to fill the screen, so there's no empty space on the right during shorter services or on larger displays.
When you start a booking, the meal tabs and available times now follow the room you're booking — each room shows only the sittings and times it actually serves that day, so a room that isn't open for a meal no longer appears at all.
A gentle guard against double-booking a table — if you move or assign a booking to a table that's already taken for that time, NomNom now checks first with a friendly “Table already booked — assign anyway?”, so an accidental clash is easy to catch while you're still free to go ahead when you mean to.
Events
Take a card or deposit for your events — the same card and deposit options you already have on meals are now on every event, so a big tasting night can ask for a deposit up front.
Choose how an event fills — assign each online booking to a table as usual, or switch to a simple guest limit that ignores tables entirely. Perfect for ticketed evenings, and for venues that haven't set up a table plan (previously an event in a room with no online-bookable tables showed no times at all).
Online bookings
Cap how many guests you'll take online for any meal — the online maximum-guests setting is now available on every meal, not just headcount-only sittings. Handy for temporarily limiting online covers when you're short-staffed, without touching your table layout.
Group your booking page's times by meal — a new “Display meal” switch in Online Booking settings shows available times under each meal's name (and pairs it with the room, like “Lunch — Terrace”, when you have more than one), so guests can see at a glance which sitting they're booking.
Schedule changes that pause online bookings between two times now include the end time — so blocking 2pm to 3pm keeps the 3pm slot offline too.
Email marketing
Mailing-list opt-ins are now saved — when a guest ticks “Join our mailing list” while booking online, NomNom records their consent (with the date, time and where it came from), building a list that's ready for your email marketing.
Connect Mailchimp — link your Mailchimp account from Settings, pick the audience you want to grow, and the guests who opt in while booking flow straight into your mailing list, with no exporting or copy-pasting. Set it up now and syncing begins as soon as the feature goes live.
NomNom on the web
We've started work on NomNom in your web browser — a way to open your bookings on any computer, no app install needed. It's early days and still being built, so it's not ready to use yet, but the groundwork is under way.
Fixes
Custom room times now respect their days properly — if a room's own time list only covers certain days (say, a weekend-only restaurant lunch), the other days no longer fall back to the standard times. On those days the room simply isn't offered for that meal, just as you'd expect.
1.0.6
Bookings & payments
Require a deposit or card on selected days only — set it per meal, so you can ask for a deposit at weekends while leaving quieter days deposit-free.
Apple Pay and Google Pay switched on by default on your online booking page.
See each dog's size and notes on a booking when guests share their dog details when booking online.
Customers
Mark a customer as a VIP — a gold star then appears on all of their bookings, so your team spot your regulars at a glance.
Keep notes against a customer that stay with them from one visit to the next (for example a favourite table or a dietary need) — separate from the notes on an individual booking.
Your team
Record who took a booking — open a reservation and pick the team member who handled it from your venue's people, so you always know who took each booking.
Cancellations & no-shows
Cancel and restore are now their own buttons, with a clear confirmation — no more hunting for them in the status list.
Cancelling a booking or marking it a no-show now frees up the table automatically.
Cancelled and no-show bookings no longer count towards the guest total at the foot of the screen.
Settings
Search your settings — start typing to jump straight to any option.
Preview your online booking page from inside the app — tap Actions in Settings to open it exactly as your guests see it.
Opening times
Set opening times and online booking cut-offs with a tap-the-clock time picker, in place of the scrolling list.
Run the same meal at different times in different rooms — for example serve Lunch from noon in the main room but from 12:30 on the Terrace. Set one default set of times that every room shares, then override the times for individual rooms only where they differ. You can copy the default times into a room as a starting point, or revert a room back to the shared default at any time.
Floor plan
Smoother room and area reordering.
Add an optional description to a room or area — when set, it appears under the room name on your online booking page, so guests know what to expect (for example “Quiet room with a garden view”).
Choose which days of the week each table is available — ideal for tables you only open at weekends or on busier days.
Mark individual tables as dog-friendly — when a guest tells you they're bringing a dog, your online booking page only offers those tables.
Tidier table details panel, with the delete button moved neatly into the title bar.
Everyday use
A gentle loading overlay now appears when you switch date, room or meal, so it's always clear that fresh bookings are on their way.
On phones, when you have lots of rooms or meals, the room and meal selectors now open a neat pop-up list to choose from — easier to tap than the old squeezed-in buttons.
Better support for larger text sizes — search results, meal settings and on/off switches now reflow and scroll neatly when you turn up your device's text size, so labels stay fully visible.
Fixes
Renaming a room no longer briefly leaves your meals or room tabs empty.
Meals that share the same name no longer appear as duplicate tabs.
The customer details panel now stays clear of the on-screen keyboard while you type.
The bottom tabs now sit clear of the home indicator and gesture area on newer phones.
