Signing in to NomNom Web with an emailed code

Forgotten your password, or signing in on a new computer? NomNom Web can email you a 6-digit code to sign in with instead. You don’t need your password, and your password doesn’t change.

Who can use it, and where the code goes

  • On app.nomnom-app.net: Admins, with their email address. The code goes to that address.
  • On your team link (app.nomnom-app.net/c/ and your team code): anyone, with their username, or an Admin with their email address. A username’s code goes to that person’s own email address. If they haven’t got one, it goes to the account owner’s email address, or failing that your restaurant’s, so someone will need to pass it on.
  • On an older venue link ending /r/ and a code: a username. The code goes to the person’s own email address, or to your restaurant’s if they haven’t got one.

Sign in with a code

1. Click Sign in with a one-time code. It’s under the password box on the sign-in page.

2. Ask for the code. Type your email address or username and click Email me a code. On a team link with more than one venue, check the Site box too: that’s where you’ll start.

3. Check your email. Look for Your NomNom login code from NomNom.

4. Type the code. Tick Keep me signed in on this device first if it’s your own computer, then type the 6 digits into 6-digit code. You’re signed in as soon as the sixth digit goes in, or click Sign in.

In NomNom Web: sign-in page → Sign in with a one-time code. This is NomNom Web only: the phone app signs in with a device code instead (see Signing in on another device).

If the code doesn’t arrive

To keep accounts private, the page never says whether an account exists, so it looks the same whether or not a code was sent. Check these:

  • Spam or junk. Have a look there, and wait a minute or two.
  • The right address. Use the email address you sign in with, exactly.
  • Not an Admin? Your email address won’t work. Use your username on your team link.
  • No email address of your own? The code went to the owner’s or the restaurant’s inbox.
  • Never had a password? Someone who’s just been added can’t get a code until an Admin gives them a one-time password — see Emailing a member of staff their sign-in details.
  • Too many requests. Please wait a few minutes and try again. Lots of codes have been asked for from the same internet connection. Wait a few minutes.

Good to know

  • A code lasts 15 minutes and works once.
  • Only the newest code works. Resend code sends a fresh one, and the earlier one stops working.
  • That code is invalid or has expired. Request a new one. means just that. Five wrong codes or passwords in a row lock sign-in for 15 minutes.
  • Changed your mind? Use your password instead takes you back, and Use a different email lets you fix a mistyped address.
  • To set a new password, Admins can click Forgotten your password? on the sign-in page. Anyone else asks an Admin to reset it.
  • Been given a one-time password? Signing in with a code doesn’t replace it. You’ll be asked to choose your own password the next time you sign in with a password.
