If guests can’t find your event online, or its page says Fully booked when you think there’s room, work through the causes below. Most come down to one setting on the event.
First, a quick look
In NomNom Web, open Configuration → Events. Every event guests can book online has an Online label on its row. Past events are hidden: click Show past if you can’t find one.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Events → click the event → Edit Event. In the phone app: Configuration → Events → tap the event → Edit Event.
The date isn’t on the event’s page
- Online booking is off. A staff-only event never appears online, on your booking page or on its own link. Open the event, switch on Online booking and click Save changes.
- The date has gone. The page only lists today onwards. With no dates left, it says there are no upcoming dates and offers Book a table instead. To run it again, click the event, choose Duplicate Event, set the new date and take (copy) off the name.
- The link is out of date. The link is made from the event’s name, so renaming the event changes it, and putting it in an event group moves it to the group’s link. Choose Copy public link again and share the new one.
The date is listed, but guests aren’t offered a time
A date only shows Book now when your booking page would really offer a time on it, so this usually comes down to the size of the party.
- The party is bigger than the places left. Book now shows while a small party still fits, so with three places left, a party of four sees no times. Your venue-wide limits apply too (see Limiting how many guests can book online and Capping guests at one time across your whole venue).
It says Fully booked
A date shows Fully booked when the event has reached its Max guests per area, or when every sitting has reached its own limit. An event with two sittings stays bookable while either one has room.
- Bookings your team takes count. The limits never stop your team booking, but those guests still take up places, so a few phone bookings can fill the event online.
- Raising the limit. A sitting left on Event limit follows Max guests per area, so raising the event’s limit raises it too. A sitting with its own number keeps that number: raise it under Sitting times as well. Sitting limits are shared by every date with the same name.
- Cancelled bookings free their places. The page always shows the latest position, so a date reopens as soon as a booking is cancelled.
It also shows Fully booked when the event still has places but your booking page wouldn’t offer a time that day:
- It’s set to Assign a table and the area has no free tables that can be booked online. Under Web booking capacity, choose Guest limit only, or make tables bookable online (see Choosing when each table can be booked).
- The area is switched off online. Check the area’s Online switch under Configuration → Areas.
- The date is closed, or online booking is off that day, under Schedule changes (see Closing dates and one-off changes).
Good to know
- Running in more than one area? The page shows one card per date, and it’s bookable while any of those areas can take a booking.
- Open the link yourself to see exactly what guests see (see What guests see on your event page).
- Setting up an event from scratch is covered in Setting up events and sharing their booking link.
- If your whole booking page is quiet, not just the event, see My venue isn’t showing availability online.
