Each booking time already has its own limit, but that limit belongs to one area. If your kitchen can only cope with 30 covers at 7pm — whether they're in the restaurant, the bar or the garden — a venue limit lets you say so. It counts every guest booked for that time across all your areas and meals together.
How to do it
1. Open Times. In NomNom Web, open Configuration and choose Times.
2. Click Venue limits. It's at the top of the Times section, and it's the same list whichever area or meal you have selected.
3. Add a limit. Click Add a limit, pick the Time, set Most guests, and choose the Days it applies on. Click Done.
4. Save. Add a limit for each time you want to cap, then click Save limits. Nothing is stored until you do.

How it fits with your other limits
A venue limit sits on top of your other limits rather than replacing them. Each time's own MAX still applies to its area, a meal's Online maximum guests still caps that meal for the day, and whichever is reached first stops the booking.
On your booking page, a time simply stops being offered once a party would take it over the limit — so a couple may still see 7pm after a party of six no longer can.
In the Times list, the VENUE column shows the venue limit for each time. Varies means it changes from day to day — hover over it to see which days. Blank means no venue limit applies.
What your team sees
Venue limits never stop your team taking a booking. If saving a booking in NomNom Web would take a time over its limit, they'll see Over your venue limit for 19:00, with how many are already booked and the new total. Book anyway saves it; Cancel goes back to the booking with nothing lost.
When a booking is changed, its own guests aren't counted twice, so a party already booked at a full 7pm can still be amended — by your team, or by the guest online.
Good to know
- It's exact to the minute. A limit at 19:00 doesn't cover 19:15, and guests booked for 18:45 who are still eating don't count towards it.
- Your team's bookings count. If you book over the limit, that time stays closed online.
- Different numbers on different days. If a time has an every-day limit and a Saturday-only one, the Saturday one applies on Saturdays.
- You may not need it yet. If none of your areas has its own list of times, a time's MAX already counts everyone booked at that time across the venue. A venue limit comes into its own once areas have their own times.
- NomNom Web only. The limit still applies to online bookings whatever you use, but bookings taken in the phone app, or moved by dragging on the chart, don't show the warning.
