Some meals only run for part of the year — a Christmas menu through December, say, or a terrace lunch from May to September. Give the meal an Active from and an Active until date and NomNom only offers it between the two. The rest of the year it stays out of the way, with its times, turn lengths and deposit settings kept ready.
Set the dates in NomNom Web
1. Open the meal. Click Configuration at the bottom of the left-hand bar and choose Meals. If you have more than one area, pick the area first, then click the meal.
2. Set the first day. On the Details tab, click Active from. Switch off Always (no date), click Date, pick the first day the meal runs and click Done.
3. Set the last day. Click Active until and do the same with the last day the meal runs.
There’s no Save button: each change saves as you make it, and All changes saved shows at the bottom once it has. In the list of meals, the meal now shows its dates under its name, so a limited run stands out at a glance.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Meals → pick a meal → Details → Active from and Active until. In the phone app: Configuration → Meals → tap a meal → Details → Active dates.
In the phone app
Go to Configuration → Meals and tap the meal. On the Details tab, find Active dates and choose Date range. Tap From and Until to pick the dates, then tap Save. To make the meal run all year again, choose Always and save.
What happens outside the dates
Both dates are included, so a meal running from 1 December until 31 December is still offered on the 31st. Outside the dates the meal isn’t offered at all: guests won’t see it on your booking page, and your team won’t see it when they take a booking. Nothing is deleted. Change or clear the dates and the meal is back, with everything as you left it.
Good to know
- You can leave one side open. Keep Active from on Always and set only Active until to stop a meal after a certain day, or the other way round to start one. In the phone app, leave From or Until on Not set.
- Dates the wrong way round. If the first day is after the last, you’ll see The from date must be on or before the until date. In NomNom Web, nothing on the meal saves until you put that right.
- Bookings you’ve already taken are safe. A booking on a day outside the dates isn’t cancelled, and the meal still shows on your booking screens for that day so you can find it.
- Each area has its own meals. If the meal runs in more than one area, set the dates in each one. Adding a meal with Copy from another area copies its dates as well.
- Your days still apply. The dates decide when the meal runs at all; its times still decide which days of the week (see Creating meals and your booking times). A Sunday roast with December dates runs on December’s Sundays only.
