A meal’s Daily online guest limit caps how many guests that meal takes online in a whole day, in one area. Use it when you want the phones and your team to keep going but the booking page to slow down: a chef away, a smaller kitchen team, or a few tables kept back for regulars who ring.
It isn’t the largest party you’ll take online. It counts every guest booked for the meal that day. With a limit of 10 and 9 guests already booked for dinner, a couple can still book, but a party of 7 sees no times at all, which looks as if your booking page is broken. Set the limit
1. Open the meal. In NomNom Web, open Configuration, choose Meals, pick the area in the ROOM row if you have more than one, then click the meal.
2. Click Daily online guest limit. It’s on the Details tab while Bookable online is on.
3. Type the number of guests a day and click Save. 0 means no limit, which is where every meal starts. The row then reads, for example, 40 a day, or No limit.
Each change saves as you make it, and All changes saved shows once it has.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Meals → pick the area → click the meal → Details → Daily online guest limit. In the phone app: Configuration → Meals → tap the meal → Daily online guest limit, then Save.
How it works
- Online bookings stop at the limit. Once a party would take the day’s total over it, the meal’s times stop being offered online for that party. A smaller party may still fit.
- Every booking counts towards it, but only online ones are stopped. Bookings your team takes count, so the meal can close online after a busy phone morning, but your team can always keep adding bookings. Cancelled bookings don’t count.
- Each area has its own limit. Lunch in the Restaurant and Lunch in the Garden are counted separately.
- It works with or without tables. On a meal that books onto tables it’s an extra ceiling below what your tables could seat. On a meal set to Don’t assign tables online it’s one of the main limits.
- Your other limits still apply. Each time’s MAX and any venue limits work alongside it, and whichever is reached first stops the booking.
Just for one date
For a busy Saturday or a short-staffed night, give the meal a different limit for one date, or no limit, and the next day goes back to your usual setting by itself. See Changing the online guest limit for one date.
