Getting around NomNom Web: Settings or Configuration?

Everything in NomNom Web is reached from three places: the top bar, the left-hand bar and the account menu under your name, top right. Admins also get two windows for setting things up, Configuration and Settings. Here’s where things live. For signing in and the basics, see Using NomNom in your web browser.

The top bar

  • The day. The arrows step a day back or forward, and Today jumps back to today.
  • Search (the magnifying glass) finds bookings and customers.
  • Optimise tables (the sparkle) and Reports & printing (the printer). In a narrower window these two move into More.
  • More (the three dots): Schedule changes and Popup notes (admins only), Insights and Vouchers.
  • List, Chart and Plan switch how you see the day. With more than one venue, the venue’s name sits next to them, to switch venue.

The left-hand bar

Your venue’s name is at the top. Below it are New reservation, Walk-in and Availability, then your Meals (click one to show only its bookings) and a month Calendar. Admins also get Settings and Configuration buttons at the bottom.

The menu button at the far left of the top bar hides or shows it (or press Ctrl+B). In a narrow window it tucks itself away, and the same button opens it.

The account menu

Click your name, top right. Everyone sees their SMS credits, Language, Change password and Sign out, plus Add to desktop in Chrome and Edge. Admins also get People & Access, Settings, Account & Billing, Configuration, Admin dashboard, and Top up for SMS credits.

Configuration or Settings?

Both are admin-only. As a rule of thumb, Configuration is the shape of your venue and when you serve, and Settings is how NomNom behaves.

Configuration

  • Areas: your rooms and spaces.
  • Meals: your services, with their turn lengths and deposit rules.
  • Times: your booking times and seasons, and Venue limits.
  • Tables and Table groups: your tables, and the ones you join for bigger parties.
  • Events: one-off dates.

The window has no Save button: each change saves as you make it. Where a form inside it has its own Save — adding times or an event, say — click that before you close.

Settings

  • Account: Restaurant Details and Social Media.
  • General settings: Booking Page Date & Time, and Display (this computer’s display size and touch-screen scrolling).
  • Reservations: statuses, booking editing, allergens, large party alerts, cancellations and no-shows, online booking and Discover, and menus.
  • Email & SMS: Email Settings, where your confirmation emails live, SMS Service and Mailchimp.
  • Payments: Stripe, Vouchers, Billing and Invoices.
  • Advanced: Webhooks.

Find a setting quickly

1. Open Settings and click in Search settings at the top of the list.

2. Type a word or two. The list shrinks to the pages that match. It searches what’s inside each page, too: reminder finds SMS Service, taken by finds Reservation Editing, and deposit finds Cancellations & No-shows and Stripe.

3. Click a page to open it.

It looks for exactly what you type, so keep it short: deposit works, but deposit settings shows No settings match.

In NomNom Web: Settings (bottom of the left-hand bar, or the account menu) → Search settings. In the phone app: Settings → Search settings.

Not in either?

Good to know

  • Can’t see Settings or Configuration? Staff who aren’t admins don’t get them (see What Admin, Standard and Read-only staff can do). If you are an admin and the buttons aren’t showing, your window is probably narrow: use the account menu.
  • One venue at a time. Both windows show the venue’s name under the title, and only change that venue.
  • Closing a window. Press Esc, click the cross or click outside it.
  • Keyboard. [ and ] step a day, T goes to today, / searches and N starts a booking. Press ? for the full list.
