Now and then NomNom emails you a link: to connect Stripe so you can take deposits or sell gift vouchers, or to set up your subscription. These emails are genuine, and the links save you signing in. Here’s how to recognise one, what the links can and can’t do, and what to do if something looks wrong.
The emails that carry a link
- Take deposits with NomNom — no NomNom fees, or Finish setting up Stripe to take deposits if you’ve started. Its Connect Stripe button lasts 14 days.
- Sell gift vouchers with NomNom, or Your gift voucher page is ready to share. If Stripe isn’t connected yet, it has the same 14-day Connect Stripe button.
- Your weekly summary. While your venue can’t take card payments, it has a Deposits & card payments section with a fresh link each week.
- Set up your NomNom subscription. Its Set up my subscription button lasts 7 days.
- A link to change the card you pay with, only when you’ve asked us for one. It lasts 3 days.
How to tell it’s from us
- The sender is NomNom, noreply@nomnom-app.net. A reply goes to support@nomnom-app.net, and the emails invite you to reply.
- The link starts https://api.nomnom-app.net/. Each email writes it out under the button. On a computer, hover over the button to see where it goes before you click.
- The first page names your venue. A Stripe link opens Connect Stripe to NomNom with Card payments for and your venue’s name in large type. A subscription link opens a page showing Subscription for and your venue’s name. Check it’s the right venue before you go on.
- You only type card or bank details on Stripe’s own pages. NomNom never asks for your password, card number or bank details in an email, in a reply, or over the phone.
What the links can and can’t do
- Opening the link does nothing by itself. Nothing is set up until you click Continue to Stripe (or Continue setting up), or Continue to payment for a subscription.
- A Stripe link won’t touch a working account. If your venue can already take card payments, it just shows Stripe is connected.
- A subscription link shows the price first, on Stripe’s secure payment page, before anything is charged. It won’t open for a venue that already has a subscription.
- Links expire. An old Stripe link says This Stripe setup link has expired or is no longer valid. Reply to the email for a fresh one, or use NomNom instead (below).
Don’t forward a Stripe link
Whoever finishes Stripe’s setup chooses the bank account your deposits and voucher money are paid into. So it should be finished by the person who owns or runs the business, not passed on. Afterwards, check the account under Settings → Stripe in NomNom. If it isn’t yours, contact us straight away, and see Unlinking or switching your Stripe account.
Not sure? Do it inside NomNom instead
Nothing in these emails has to be done from the email. In NomNom Web, open Settings → Stripe and click Setup Stripe Account. To subscribe, click your initials at the top right, choose Account & Billing, then Set Up Subscription (see Why can’t I subscribe from the phone app?).
In NomNom Web: Settings → Stripe, or your initials → Account & Billing. In the phone app: Settings → Stripe.
If something looks wrong
Don’t click anything in an email that asks you to reply with a password or card number, comes from an address that doesn’t end in nomnom-app.net, or links anywhere other than nomnom-app.net or Stripe. Forward it to support@nomnom-app.net and we’ll tell you whether it’s ours.
