Card payments through NomNom go straight into your own Stripe account, so two companies can charge you: Stripe, for processing the card, and NomNom, but only on gift vouchers sold online. Here’s who charges what.
Deposits, card holds and no-show charges
NomNom doesn’t take a fee on deposits, on payments made through a payment link, or on no-show and late-cancellation fees you charge to a guest’s card. Holding a card to secure a booking moves no money, so there’s nothing for NomNom to take there either.
The only charge on these payments is Stripe’s standard fee for processing the card. Stripe takes it from the payment in your Stripe account before paying out to your bank.
Gift vouchers sold online
On each voucher bought on your voucher page, two amounts come off before the money reaches your Stripe balance:
- NomNom’s platform fee: a percentage of the voucher’s value plus a small fixed amount per voucher.
- Stripe’s standard fee for processing the card.
The guest pays the voucher’s full value, and nothing more is charged when it’s redeemed, however many visits it’s spent over. Vouchers you sell in person carry no platform fee, because you take the money at your own till.
To see how the fees work:
1. Open your voucher settings. In NomNom Web, open Settings and choose Vouchers under PAYMENTS. In the phone app, go to Settings and tap Vouchers.
2. Scroll to PLATFORM FEES. Platform fee explains NomNom’s fee, Card processing explains Stripe’s, and Minimum voucher value explains the smallest voucher that can be bought online. They don’t show figures. Each sale’s fees are itemised in your Stripe dashboard, and the sale email you get for each voucher shows the NomNom fee and what’s Net to you.
Stripe sets its own fees, and they depend on the card: cards issued abroad, for example, can cost more.
To see how much NomNom has taken over a period, open Sales report on the same page and pick your dates. The Platform fees total is at the top.

SMS credits
Texts NomNom sends for you, including payment links and card requests sent by text, use SMS credits. You buy credits from NomNom in packs: open Settings, choose SMS Service, then Top up SMS credits. The top-up page opens in your browser, lists the packs and their prices, and takes you to Stripe’s checkout to pay. It’s a purchase from NomNom, so it has nothing to do with your own Stripe account and never comes out of your deposits. For how credits are used, see Texting guests and managing SMS credits.

Good to know
- Your guests never pay extra. NomNom’s fee and Stripe’s come out of what you receive; the guest pays the deposit or voucher amount you set.
