We update the NomNom phone app regularly with new features and fixes. Updates come through the App Store or Google Play like any other app, and NomNom also tells you when one is waiting, so the phones and tablets your team uses never fall too far behind.
When you see Update available
When a newer version of the app is out, a bar saying Update available appears at the top of the Reservations screen, just under your venue’s name. Anyone using the phone can update it — you don’t need to be an admin.
1. Tap Get Update. NomNom opens its page in the App Store (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play (Android). If it can’t, you’ll see Get the latest version of NomNom from the App Store or Google Play.: open the store yourself and find NomNom there.
2. Tap Update in the store and wait for it to finish.
3. Open NomNom again. You’re still signed in, and the bar has gone.
In the phone app: Reservations screen → Update available → Get Update.
When the app checks
NomNom checks for a new version each time the app starts. A phone that’s been left open in the background for days won’t show the bar until it starts again, so if you’ve heard there’s an update, close NomNom fully and open it again.
Each phone checks for itself. If your team shares several phones or a tablet on the front desk, update each one.
Some changes need the latest version
Most of NomNom carries on working on an older version of the app. Events are the exception. An out-of-date app can’t see everything about some events — an event with several sitting times, or one that runs in more than one area — and saving from it would lose what it can’t see. So NomNom refuses the save and shows a message asking you to update the app, such as Saving events requires the latest app version. Nothing is changed.
Update the app and save again, or make the change in NomNom Web instead. For more on events, see Setting up events and sharing their booking link.
Good to know
- Automatic updates. If your phone is set to update apps by itself, NomNom may already be up to date by the time you look.
- NomNom Web needs no updating. It updates itself; an open tab just needs a reload — see NomNom Web looks out of date: getting the latest version. It never shows the Update available bar.
