If you look after more than one venue, you can keep each one open in its own browser tab — The Red Lion’s diary in one tab and The Crown’s in the next, say — and move between them without signing in and out. Each NomNom Web tab has its own sign-in and stays on its own venue, so switching venue in one tab leaves the other exactly where it was.
In NomNom Web: the venue name at the top of the left-hand bar → pick a venue. This is NomNom Web only: the phone app shows one venue at a time.
Open your second venue in a new tab
1. Sign in as usual in your first tab. The venue name at the top of the left-hand bar is the venue this tab is working on.
2. Open a new tab. Press Ctrl+T (Cmd+T on a Mac) and go to app.nomnom-app.net, or to your team’s own sign-in link if that’s how you usually sign in. Open a fresh tab rather than using your browser’s Duplicate option — see Good to know.
3. Sign in again. A new tab starts signed out, so enter your details. If you ticked Keep me signed in on this device last time, it may take you straight in instead.
4. Switch this tab to the other venue. Click the venue name at the top of the left-hand bar (it says Switch venue underneath) and pick the other venue. The venue button in the top bar does the same, with a tick next to the venue you’re on.
Each tab now stays on its own venue, and new bookings appear by themselves in the tab for that venue.
No Switch venue option?
Switch venue only appears when your sign-in covers more than one venue. There are two ways to set that up:
- One sign-in for several venues. An admin can give a team member more venues in People & Access: open the person, tick the venues under Venues and click Save changes. See Managing your team and who can access NomNom.
- A separate sign-in for each venue. If each venue has its own NomNom account, just sign in to a different one in each tab in step 3, and skip step 4.
Good to know
- Don’t duplicate the tab. A tab made with your browser’s Duplicate option shares the first tab’s sign-in, so changing venue in one changes it behind the scenes in the other too. Always use a new tab and sign in there.
- Both tabs are called NomNom in your browser, so glance at the venue name at the top of the left-hand bar before you take a booking or change anything.
- Settings and Configuration follow the tab. They change the venue that tab is on. What you can do can differ between venues too: if you’re an admin at one venue but not the other, Settings and Configuration only show in the tab for the first. See What Admin, Standard and Read-only staff can do.
- Each tab signs out on its own. Closing a tab, or leaving it unused for 12 hours, signs that tab out and leaves the others signed in. Choosing Sign out from the account menu signs out that tab and makes the browser forget Keep me signed in.
- Opening another venue’s sign-in link in a tab that’s already signed in signs that tab out and shows the other venue’s sign-in page. Open the link in a new tab instead.
- Reloading is safe. F5 keeps each tab signed in and on its own venue. See Using NomNom in your web browser.
