The Get started checklist in NomNom Web

While your venue is on its free trial, NomNom Web shows a Get started with NomNom checklist on any day with no bookings. It’s four steps to your first real bookings, and each one ticks itself off when you’ve done it, so there’s nothing to mark by hand.

In NomNom Web: the List view, on any day with no bookings. The phone app doesn’t have the checklist.

Who sees it

Admins at a venue on its free trial that hasn’t subscribed. Staff with Standard or Read-only access see the usual empty day instead. The count at the top, such as 1 of 4 done, shows how far you’ve got. The checklist goes for good once all four steps are done, once you subscribe, or when you hide it.

The four steps

1. Add a test booking. Click Add a booking and take a booking the way you would over the phone (see Taking a booking over the phone). If you’re closed on the day you’re looking at, the form opens on your next open day and the diary moves there too. You can cancel the booking afterwards: it still counts.

2. Book a table on your booking page. Click Open booking page. Your booking page opens in a new tab: book as a guest would, and the booking goes straight into your diary. The step ticks within a minute or so, or as soon as you come back to NomNom Web. If no times are offered, see My venue isn't showing availability online.

3. Put a Book button on your website. Click Copy link and you’ll see Booking link copied. Put the link behind a Book a table button on your website, or add it to Instagram and Google. We can’t see your website, so copying the link is what ticks this step. For more, see Putting the booking form on your own website and Show your NomNom booking page on Google.

4. Moving from another booking system? Click Ask us to move them. In Bring your bookings across, fill in Booking system you use now and, if you like, When does your contract end? (optional) and Anything we should know? (optional), then click Send request. You’ll see Thanks. We’ll be in touch by email., and the step shows Requested. We reply to your venue’s email address to arrange the move.

Hiding the checklist

Not moving from another system, or just don’t need the reminders? Click Hide these steps at the bottom of the checklist. It’s hidden for everyone at your venue, on every computer, and it doesn’t come back.

Good to know

  • It only shows on empty days. A day with a booking on it shows your bookings as usual. The checklist carries on appearing on other empty days until you’re done.
  • Real bookings tick steps 1 and 2. Any booking your team enters counts for step 1, even a cancelled one, and any booking made online counts for step 2.
  • Can’t see it? Check you’re an admin, you’re in the List view rather than Chart or Plan, and the day on screen has no bookings.
  • Link not ready? If you see Your booking page link isn’t ready yet. Please try again in a minute., wait a minute and click the button again.
  • Everything on it is elsewhere too. After you hide it, take bookings with New reservation in the left-hand bar (or press N), and find your booking link as described in Turning on online booking and sharing your link.
