Changing your own password

You can change your own NomNom password at any time while you’re signed in. You’ll need your current password; if you’ve forgotten it, see Forgotten your password? instead. Everyone can do this, whatever their role.

In NomNom Web: account menu (top right) → Change password. In the phone app: Settings → Change password.

Change it in NomNom Web

1. Open the account menu. Click your name (or initials) at the top right, then Change password.

2. Fill in the three boxes. Type your Current password, then your New password (at least 8 characters), then the new one again in Confirm new password.

3. Click Change password. You’ll see Password changed. and the window closes. Use the new password next time you sign in.

Change it in the phone app

Open Settings, tap Change password under ACCOUNT, fill in the same three boxes and tap Change password. The phone app itself doesn’t use a password, so this changes the password for NomNom Web and the NomNom dashboard. It’s the password of the person the phone is signed in as.

If it won’t change

  • Fill in all three fields. One of the boxes is empty.
  • The new passwords don’t match. The two new boxes are different. Type them again.
  • Your new password needs at least 8 characters.
  • Your new password must be different from the current one.
  • Your current password is not right. Check Caps Lock and try again. Wrong tries here count towards the sign-in lockout (below).
  • Too many wrong passwords. Wait a few minutes, then try again. After five wrong passwords in a row, here or on the sign-in page, your account is locked for 15 minutes. Wait, or ask an admin to reset your password, which lifts it straight away.
  • Your account does not have a password yet. You’ve never been given one. Ask an admin to set one up (see Resetting a member of staff’s password).
  • This device is not signed in as a person, so there is no password to change. The phone was signed in without being linked to anyone. Change your password in NomNom Web instead.

Good to know

  • You stay signed in. Changing your password doesn’t sign out this browser or any other device. To sign one out, see Checking which devices are signed in, and signing one out.
  • One password everywhere. The new password works in NomNom Web and the NomNom dashboard. If your email address is linked to more than one venue, it changes for all of them.
  • Given a one-time password? You don’t need this screen: NomNom asks you to choose your own the first time you sign in with it.
  • Changing someone else’s password is done with Reset password in People & Access, by an admin.
  • Names used only for Taken by never sign in, so they have no password to change.
