Plans change. Here’s how to move a booking to another day or time, change how many are coming, or seat them at another table, in NomNom Web and the phone app.
Change a booking in NomNom Web
1. Open the booking. Click it in the list, chart or plan, then click Edit reservation at the top of the side panel, or right-click it and choose Edit reservation. If your venue asks for a PIN, you’ll enter it first.
2. Change the date or time. Click Date to pick another day, and choose a new Time. The list shows the times you’ve set up for the booking’s meal and room on that day.
3. Change the party size. Use Adults and Children.
4. Change the room or meal, if you need to. Click another Room (if you have more than one) or Meal. The booking keeps its time when you do. If the new choice doesn’t offer that time, the time turns red (see Why is the time red when I edit a booking?).
5. Check the table. Tables lists every table free for the new details, including the booking’s current one. Changing the date or room clears the table, so pick one again. Changing the time, party size or turn length refreshes the list and unticks a table that’s no longer free. If your tables seat fewer than the party, you’ll see a note such as 4 seats selected for a party of 6.
6. Save. Click Save changes.
In NomNom Web: click the booking → Edit reservation, or right-click → Edit reservation. In the phone app: tap the booking → View Details.
Moving a booking to another table
To reseat someone without opening the booking, right-click it in NomNom Web:
- Move to table lists the tables free at the booking’s time. Click one to move it there, or switch on Select several, pick the tables and click Confirm. With more than one room, you can choose a table in another room here too.
- Swap tables swaps tables with another booking in the same room.
- Unallocate takes the booking off its table, so you can seat it later.
On the Chart, you can also drag a booking up or down onto another table. Dragging changes the table only, never the time. Drop it on a table that’s already taken and NomNom asks first: Swap the two bookings or, if you dragged it from Unallocated, Bump the other booking to Unallocated. After a move, a message with UNDO shows for a few seconds in case you picked the wrong table.
The room follows the table
Move a booking onto a table in a different room — with Move to table, or by dragging it on the chart while it shows All rooms — and the booking moves to that room too, so it shows when you look at that room. It keeps its meal, though. If the new room doesn’t serve that meal, the edit form shows the meal as an amber chip (see Why is the time red when I edit a booking?).
In the phone app
Tap the booking, then View Details.
- To change the day, time, room, meal or table, tap Date, Time, Room, Meal or Tables. On the Availability screen, set the date, room, meal and time, tap a table, then tap Confirm.
- To change the party size, tap Guests, set Adults and Children, and tap Save. If the party has outgrown its table, NomNom asks whether to Keep table or Find a table that fits.
Then tap Save Reservation. To just reseat someone, tap the booking and choose Move to, Swap tables with or Unallocate. On the chart, you can press and hold a booking and drag it to another table.
Good to know
- Requested tables stay put. While Requested table is ticked, the table can’t be changed, moved or dragged. Untick it first. See When a guest requests a specific table.
- The turn length moves with the booking. A booking keeps its turn length when you change its time or date. Choose Auto in the form to use your current settings instead (see Setting how long a table is held, including different times on certain days).
- Table already booked? If the table has been taken in the meantime, NomNom says Table already booked when you save. Choose Assign anyway only if you really mean to put two bookings on it.
