A guest wants breakfast at 10:15, or a table at 5:45 before the theatre, and that time isn’t on your list. You don’t need to change your setup: type the time straight into the booking. It’s used for that booking only, and nothing is added to your booking times.
In NomNom Web
1. Start the booking. Click New reservation, or open a booking and click Edit reservation. Pick the date, area and meal as usual.
2. Choose Custom time. Open Time and choose Custom time… at the bottom of the list, or click the clock button just to the right of Time.
3. Type the time and click OK. For example 10:15. The tables on offer are then worked out for that time, as usual.
4. Save the booking.
In NomNom Web: New reservation or Edit reservation → Time → Custom time…, or the clock button beside Time. It works in the classic form and the new design.
Hover over the time and NomNom reminds you: Custom time: not one of this meal’s set times. Used for this booking only; nothing is added to your configuration.
In the phone app
On the Availability screen, tap the time and choose Custom time at the end of the list. Enter the time, and Custom time, for this booking only shows under it. You need the latest version of the app.
Good to know
- It stays put. Change the area, meal or date afterwards and the custom time is kept. It never turns red, and NomNom doesn’t ask Time not available when you save, because you chose it on purpose. Pick a time from the list to go back to a normal one.
- Your booking page isn’t affected. Guests booking online are only offered your set times. To offer a new time every week, add it under Configuration → Times (see Creating meals and your booking times). To change the times for one date, online too, see Setting up one-off changes for special dates.
- Walk-ins are always now. A walk-in’s time is the time you seat them, so it has no custom time (see Seating a walk-in).
- Why can’t I pick a time at all? If Time is greyed out, there’s no service that day: see Why can’t I pick a time when adding a booking?.
