In NomNom Web, the chart lets you start a booking exactly where you want it. Click an empty space on a table’s row and the New reservation form opens with the table, time, meal and room already filled in. This is NomNom Web only.

1. Open the chart. Click Chart at the top of the screen and go to the day you want.
2. Click an empty space on the table’s row, under the time you want. NomNom picks the nearest booking time you’ve set up, within half an hour of where you clicked, and prefers one where the table is free. To start a booking with no table, click the Unallocated row instead.
3. Fill in the rest. If your venue asks for a PIN, you’ll enter it first. The form opens with the Date, Time, Room, Meal and table already chosen, and Turn length on Auto. Set Adults and Children, find or type the guest, and click Save reservation. The rest of the form is covered in Taking a booking over the phone.
In NomNom Web: Chart → click an empty space on a table’s row. The phone app doesn’t start bookings from the chart.
Drag to set how long
With a mouse, press on an empty space and drag sideways along the row. A box shows the start and end times, and it stops at the next booking so it can’t run into one. Let go and the form opens with that turn length set instead of Auto, and it stays at that length even if you then change the party size. On a touch screen, dragging your finger scrolls the chart instead, so tap to book there.
Not enough time for a full turn
If the next booking on that table starts before a full turn would finish, NomNom tells you before the form opens: Not enough time for a full turn — Only 45 min is free on Table 5 before the next booking. The usual turn length is 2 h.
Click Book for 45 min to carry on with the shorter turn length, or Cancel to pick another table or time. NomNom won’t start a booking that runs into the next one. If there’s less than 15 minutes free, you’ll see There isn’t enough free time here for a booking instead.
Good to know
- The usual turn length is the one the form would use on Auto for that meal (see Setting how long a table is held, including different times on certain days).
- Grey Online booking blocks are guests booking that table online right now. The chart treats that time as taken.
- Somebody beat you to it? If the table isn’t free by the time the form opens, it says That table has just been taken — pick another below.
- All rooms. When the chart shows every room, clicking a table opens the booking in that table’s own room, with that room’s meals and times.
- A folded Unallocated row can’t be clicked to book. Open it out first.
- A message instead of the form? On a day you’re closed, you’ll see The venue is closed on this day, so there is nothing to book. This day has no bookable times set up yet and There’s no bookable time around here both mean there’s no booking time near where you clicked (see Why can’t I pick a time when adding a booking?).
- In the phone app, tapping an empty space on the chart doesn’t start a booking. Use the + button, then New Reservation (see Taking a booking over the phone).
