NomNom Web keeps a separate sign-in for each browser tab, and ends one that hasn’t been used for a while, so a computer at the front desk never stays open to anyone who walks up to it. That’s why you’ll sometimes land back on the sign-in page. Here’s what does it, and how to go straight back in.
What signs you out
- Closing the tab or the browser. Closing a tab ends its sign-in. Refreshing the page doesn’t, so when you need to reload, press F5 in the same tab rather than closing it (see NomNom Web looks out of date: getting the latest version).
- 12 hours without use. A sign-in that isn’t used for 12 hours ends — on a computer left asleep overnight, say. Ordinary use through the day keeps you signed in.
- Opening a different NomNom Web link. Following another venue’s or team’s link, or a different sign-in link from the one you used, in a tab that’s already signed in signs that tab out and shows that link’s sign-in page. To move between your own venues, use the venue name at the top of the left-hand bar instead.
- Sign out. Sign out in the account menu ends that tab’s sign-in and makes the browser forget Keep me signed in. Tabs that are already open elsewhere stay signed in until you close them.
- A change to your account. If an admin switches your account off, you’re signed out everywhere and can’t sign back in until they switch it on again.
Stay signed in on your own computer
1. Tick Keep me signed in on this device when you sign in, whether you use your password or an emailed code.
2. Come back the same way. Next time you open NomNom Web at the same address — after closing the tab or restarting the browser — it goes straight to your diary without asking for your password.
It lasts 30 days, and the 30 days start again each time it lets you back in. Leave it unticked on a shared or public computer.
It works even if a tab was left open when its 12 hours ran out: NomNom signs you straight back in. Only Sign out makes the browser forget you.
Still being asked to sign in?
- A different address. Your team’s own sign-in link and the main NomNom Web page (app.nomnom-app.net) each remember you separately. Bookmark the one you ticked the box on, and open NomNom from that.
- A different browser or computer. It’s remembered by one browser on one computer only.
- A private window, or a browser that clears itself. A private or incognito window forgets everything when it closes, and so does a browser set to clear site data when you close it.
- Someone chose Sign out on that computer, or it hasn’t been used for 30 days. Sign in and tick the box again.
- Your password was reset. If an admin has reset it, you’ll be asked to sign in and choose a new one.
- Too many failed attempts. Five wrong passwords in a row lock sign-in for 15 minutes.
In NomNom Web: the sign-in page → Keep me signed in on this device. To sign out: account menu (your name, top right) → Sign out.
Good to know
- Your bookings are safe. Being signed out never touches anything you’ve saved. If you see Your session has ended. Please sign in again., the change you were making didn’t go through: sign in and make it again.
- Two venues side by side. Because each tab signs in on its own, each can be on a different venue: see Using NomNom in your web browser.
