Resending a gift voucher to the guest or the buyer

Gift voucher emails go astray: the recipient deletes it by mistake, it lands in junk, or the download link has run out by the time they look. Rather than asking the buyer to start again, an admin can send the voucher again from NomNom, to the person it’s for or to the buyer.

Send a voucher again

1. Open Sales. In NomNom Web, click More (the three dots in the top bar), choose Vouchers and click the Sales tab. In the phone app, open the menu, tap Vouchers, then Sales.

2. Find the voucher and click it. Search for the buyer’s name or email.

3. Choose who to send it to. Under the Audit log, click Resend to recipient or Resend receipt to buyer.

A voucher bought by Sam Taylor, open in NomNom Web: Active, 50 pounds remaining, recipient Priya Shah, with Resend to recipient and Resend receipt to buyer under the Audit log

4. Confirm. NomNom asks, for example, Send the voucher to Priya Shah again? Click Send, and you’ll see Voucher sent to Priya Shah again.

The confirmation: Send the voucher to Priya Shah again? It goes to the email address the buyer gave for them. Cancel and Send buttons

In NomNom Web: More → Vouchers → Sales → click the voucher → Resend to recipient or Resend receipt to buyer. In the phone app: menu → Vouchers → Sales → tap the voucher → the same buttons.

Which one to choose

  • Resend to recipient sends the gift email again: who it’s from, the buyer’s message, the voucher code, when it expires and a fresh link to download the voucher. It goes to the email address the buyer gave for the recipient. It only shows when the buyer gave an email address for the recipient.
  • Resend receipt to buyer sends the buyer their receipt again, with the voucher. Use it when the recipient’s address was wrong or missing: the buyer can pass the voucher on themselves.

You can’t change either email address in NomNom, so if the recipient’s address was mistyped, send it to the buyer instead.

Which vouchers can be sent again

Only a voucher that can still be spent: one showing Active or Partial. The buttons don’t appear on a voucher that’s Fully redeemed, Refunded, Cancelled, Pending payment or Expired. If you try one of those, NomNom says Only a voucher that can still be spent can be sent again (this one is used up, refunded, cancelled, unpaid or expired).

Good to know

  • Admins only. Other staff don’t see the buttons (see What Admin, Standard and Read-only staff can do).
  • The email shows the voucher’s original value, not what’s left on it. If part has been spent, tell the guest the balance yourself.
  • Vouchers due on a later date. If the buyer chose a delivery date that hasn’t come yet, Resend to recipient sends it now, and it won’t be sent again on that date. Check with the buyer before you spoil a surprise.
  • Nothing about the voucher changes. The code, balance and expiry date stay the same; only the email goes again. Download links in voucher emails last 7 days, and each resend includes a new one.
  • When the first emails go out is covered in When gift voucher emails go out.
