When a guest rings to ask what you’ve got on Saturday, you don’t need to try times one at a time. The Availability window in NomNom Web lists every time in a service with how full each one is, and books the time the guest picks.
In NomNom Web: left-hand bar → Availability. It isn’t in the phone app.
Check a service
1. Open Availability. Click Availability near the top of the left-hand bar, under New reservation and Walk-in. It opens on the day you’re looking at.
2. Choose the day. Use the arrows either side of the date to move a day at a time, or click the date to pick one from the calendar.
3. Choose the area and meal. If you have more than one area, pick it under Room, then pick the Meal. Only the meals served that day are listed, including any event.
4. Set the party size. Change Guests to the number in the party. Any time without room for them gets a red outline and a red count.
5. Hide the full times, if you like. Tick Only show available times to list just the times with room for the party.
What the figures mean
Each time has a bar and a line such as 8 of 40 spaces left. The 40 is the guest limit you’ve set for that time (its MAX under Configuration → Times), and the 8 is how many more guests it can take before it’s full. The bar turns from green to orange once the time is half full, and to red at three-quarters full. If the area has its own list of times, only that area’s guests for that meal count, the same way online booking counts them.
A time with no limit just shows how many guests are booked, followed by no limit.
The figures count guests, not tables, so there are two things they can’t tell you:
- Whether a table is free. A time with spaces left may still have no table big enough for the party. You’ll see the free tables once you book.
- Who’s still sitting from earlier. A booking counts only at the time it starts, so guests still at their table from an earlier time don’t use up a later time’s spaces.
Book a time
1. Click Reserve next to the time the guest wants. The Availability window closes and the booking form opens with the date, area, meal, time and party size already filled in. If your venue asks for a PIN, you’ll enter it first.
2. Check the table. NomNom picks the smallest free table that seats the whole party, and you can click a different one. If no single table fits, or the meal is an event, none is picked and you choose.
3. Add the guest and save, just as in Taking a booking over the phone.
Good to know
- Full times can still be booked. Guest limits only stop online bookings, so Reserve still works on a full time. If ticking Only show available times leaves nothing, you’ll see a message such as Nothing free for 4 guests, with a Show all times button.
- No times at all? No times on this day means that area doesn’t serve that meal on that date. Try another day, area or meal.
- Other limits aren’t shown here. The figures use each time’s own limit. If you’ve set a limit for the whole venue (see Capping guests at one time across your whole venue), the booking form warns you before you go over it.
- Changing a time’s limit. See How NomNom decides which times to offer online for where each limit lives.
- Nothing is saved until you book. Press Esc or click outside the window to close it.
- In the phone app there’s no Availability screen, but when you choose a time for a new booking, each time shows how many guests are booked against its limit, such as 12 / 40 guests.
