Two settings change how bookings look on the chart. Bold booking colours draws each booking in its status colour at full strength, so you can tell statuses apart at a glance. When a party has left lets you fade or hide bookings whose guests have gone, so the tables still in use stand out. Both apply to everyone at your venue, in NomNom Web and the phone app, and only admins can change them.
Make booking colours bold
1. Open Reservation Editing. In NomNom Web, open Settings from the account menu at the top right (or from the bottom of the left-hand bar) and choose Reservation Editing.
2. Switch on Bold booking colours. It’s under CHART, and it saves as soon as you switch it.
Bookings on the chart are then filled with their status colour instead of a soft pastel, and the writing turns white on darker colours so it stays readable. Switch it off to go back to pastels.
In NomNom Web: Settings → Reservation Editing → CHART. In the phone app: Settings → Reservation Editing → CHART.
Bold colours work best when your statuses have clearly different colours. To change a status’s colour, see Creating your own booking statuses.
Fade or hide parties who have left
1. Open Reservation Editing, as above.
2. Click When a party has left. It’s under DEPARTED BOOKINGS.
3. Choose an option. It saves as soon as you pick.
- Show as normal — the standard setting. Bookings whose party has left look like any other booking.
- Fade them — they’re drawn faded, so the tables still in use stand out when you’re placing a walk-in. Names and times stay readable.
- Hide them — they drop off the chart completely, leaving only the tables still in use.
In NomNom Web: Settings → Reservation Editing → DEPARTED BOOKINGS. In the phone app: Settings → Reservation Editing → DEPARTED BOOKINGS.
A party counts as having left when their booking has a status with Counts as departed switched on, such as Departed. See What happens when you mark a party as departed.
Where each option shows
- Chart: Fade them and Hide them both work, in NomNom Web and the phone app.
- Plan: in NomNom Web, both work. In the phone app’s Plan, Hide them works, but Fade them shows those bookings as normal.
- List: never changes. Departed bookings stay in the day’s list, and their guests still count in your covers, whichever option you choose.
Good to know
- Bold colours change the chart only. The list and the plan look the same either way.
- A booking with no status is drawn in a neutral grey.
- Faded bookings still work. You can click or tap one to open it, just as before.
- Looking for a hidden booking? Switch to List, where every booking still shows.
- Other screens catch up on refresh. The change shows straight away on the screen where you made it. Other computers and phones already showing the chart pick it up when NomNom Web is refreshed or the app is reopened.
