I changed a status colour but the chart still looks pale

You’ve picked a strong yellow for Arrived and saved it, but the bookings on your chart are still a pale cream. The colour did save. Unless Bold booking colours is on, the chart draws every status as a soft pastel of its colour, so two statuses can look almost the same.

See the real colour, and switch it on

1. Open Reservation Statuses. In NomNom Web, open Settings from the account menu at the top right (or the bottom of the left-hand bar) and choose Reservation Statuses. Only admins can change statuses.

2. Click the status. Edit Status opens. Under On the chart you see the booking block exactly as your chart draws it now.

3. Switch on Bold booking colours, just below the preview. The block turns the full colour, and the chart behind the window repaints straight away. The switch applies to every status and saves as soon as you flip it, even if you then cancel the window.

In NomNom Web: Settings → Reservation Statuses → click a status → Bold booking colours. The same switch is under Settings → Reservation Editing → CHART.

Good to know

  • It’s for the whole venue. Everyone sees bold colours, in NomNom Web and the phone app. Other screens already showing the chart pick it up when NomNom Web is refreshed or the app is reopened.
  • Only the chart changes. The list and the floor plan look the same either way.
  • Pick colours that stand apart. With bold on, writing turns white on darker colours so it stays readable.
  • Prefer pastels? Leave bold off, and choose status colours that are clearly different even when softened.
  • In the phone app, the preview and switch in Edit Status need the latest version. Reservation Editing has the switch either way.
  • More on statuses and the chart: Creating your own booking statuses and Chart display options: bold colours and fading or hiding parties who have left.
