Adding your booking link to Instagram and Facebook

Plenty of guests find you on Instagram or Facebook first, so put your booking link where they can tap it. Start by copying it: in NomNom Web, open Settings, choose Online Booking & Discover and click Copy booking link (see Your booking link: sharing it and making a QR code). It looks like https://book.nomnom-app.net/a1b2c3d4 and never changes.

The steps below are in Instagram and Facebook, not NomNom. Meta moves these menus around from time to time, so the names on your screen may be slightly different.

Instagram

1. Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.

2. Tap Links, then Add external link.

3. Paste your booking link and give it a title such as Book a table. Tap Done. It now shows under your bio for everyone who visits your profile.

Also worth doing:

  • Stories. Add a Link sticker with your booking link, so people can tap straight through to book.
  • Messages. When someone asks for a table by message, paste the link in your reply. Keep it somewhere handy on your phone.
  • Captions. Links in post captions can’t be tapped, so write Book via the link in our bio instead.

Instagram’s own Reserve or Book buttons only work with booking companies Instagram has partnered with, and NomNom isn’t one of them. The link in your bio does the same job.

Facebook

1. Open your restaurant’s Facebook Page, switched to the Page rather than your personal profile.

2. Add an action button. Look for Add action button, or Edit action button if you already have one, near the top of your Page.

3. Choose a booking button, such as Book now, and paste your booking link as the website it opens. Save it, then tap the button yourself to check it opens your booking page.

Put the link in your Page’s details too, and in posts about busy dates. A post with the link pinned to the top of your Page is easy for people to find.

Events and gift vouchers

For a post about a tasting night or a Christmas menu, share the event’s own link, so guests go straight to it (see Setting up events and sharing their booking link). For gift vouchers, share your voucher page (see Sharing your gift voucher page).

Good to know

  • Test it from the app. Tap your link inside Instagram and Facebook, not just on a computer. They open it in their own browser, and you want to see what guests see.
  • The other way round. To show your Instagram and Facebook on your booking page, see Where your social media links appear.
  • Listed on NomNom Discover? Your link may open your Discover page, where guests book in just the same way.
  • Google too. See Show your NomNom booking page on Google.
