A guest can’t find their gift voucher, or the download link in their email no longer works. The voucher itself is almost certainly fine: only the link has run out. Here’s how the buyer can get a fresh one, and how an admin can resend it.
Why links expire
The Download voucher link in voucher emails works for 7 days, so an email forwarded months later can’t be used by someone else. The voucher lasts until the Valid until date printed on it. The code is written in the email too, so a guest who still has the email can simply give you the code.
The buyer can get a fresh link
Opening an old link shows This download link has expired, with the reassurance that the voucher is still valid. The buyer enters the email address they bought it with and clicks Send me a new link. Their voucher email comes again with a new 7-day link.
Whatever is typed, the page says If we recognise that email address, a fresh download link is on its way. It only sends when the address matches the buyer’s. The person the voucher is for can’t use it with their own address; they should ask the buyer, or you.
Resend it yourself
Admins can email a voucher again from its details.
1. Open the voucher. Go to Sales and search for the buyer’s name or email.
2. Choose who gets it. Resend to recipient sends the gift email to the address the buyer gave for them. Resend receipt to buyer sends the buyer their receipt, with the voucher, again.
3. Confirm. For example, Send the voucher to Priya Shah again? Click Send. You’ll see Voucher sent to Priya Shah again. Either email carries a new 7-day link.
In NomNom Web: More (the three dots in the top bar) → Vouchers → Sales → click the voucher. In the phone app: menu → Vouchers → Sales → tap the voucher.
- Only vouchers that can still be spent. The buttons show for Active and Partial vouchers. One that’s used up, refunded, cancelled, unpaid or expired can’t be sent again.
- No address for the recipient? If the buyer left Their email blank, Resend to recipient doesn’t show. Use Resend receipt to buyer instead.
- Scheduled for later? Resend to recipient sends it now, even if the buyer chose a later date, and the scheduled email won’t follow.
If nobody has the email
NomNom doesn’t show your team voucher codes, and there’s no way to change the email address on a voucher. For a voucher you sold in person, you can void it and sell a new one (see Refunding, cancelling or voiding a gift voucher). For one bought online with a mistyped address, contact NomNom support with the buyer’s name and when they bought it.
Good to know
- Check junk folders. Voucher emails come from your venue, for example The Red Lion via NomNom.
- Resending is admin-only. Other staff don’t see the buttons (see What Admin, Standard and Read-only staff can do).
- Nothing changes on the voucher. Resending doesn’t touch its balance or expiry date.
