NomNom allows one venue per email address. If the address you type when you sign up already belongs to a NomNom venue, NomNom won’t build you a second one on it. You’ll see You already have a NomNom account instead. It stops the same restaurant ending up with two separate accounts, and it applies however you sign up: on our website, in the phone app, or from the phone app’s Locations screen.
What you’ll see
The check happens on the first step, when you enter your Email and click Next. If the address belongs to a venue, we email a sign-in code to it and ask you for the code:
What you do next depends on whether this is the venue you already have, or a new one.
It’s the same venue: sign in
1. Find the email. Look in that inbox for Your NomNom login code (from the phone app, it’s Access Code followed by your venue’s name). Check your spam folder if it isn’t there.
2. Enter the six digits. You’re signed in as soon as the last digit goes in, or click Sign in.
3. You’re in. In your browser, you go straight to your venue in NomNom Web. If you’ve never chosen a password there, the page says so and you’ll pick one straight after signing in. In the phone app, the phone is signed in to your venue and opens its bookings.
If you see That code didn’t work. Check it and try again, or send yourself a new one., click Send a new code, and you’ll see A new code is on its way. A code from our website lasts 15 minutes; one from the phone app lasts 24 hours.
It’s a different venue: give it its own address
Setting up a second restaurant? Click Use a different email to go back a step, change Email to an address for the new venue, and click Next. The phone app reminds you of this under the buttons: Setting up another venue? Each venue needs its own email address.
Choose an address someone reads. It’s where the new venue’s sign-in codes go, and guests see it on its booking page and confirmation emails. The new venue is a separate account, with its own settings and its own subscription (see Running more than one venue on NomNom).
On our website: Get Started → Email. In the phone app: Settings → Locations → Add Restaurant → Setup a New Restaurant.
A message, but no code?
Sometimes you’ll see a message above Next instead, saying the address already has a NomNom account. Sign in to that account instead, or use a different email address to set this venue up separately. Nothing is emailed. The usual reasons:
- The address is a staff member’s sign-in at a NomNom venue, not a venue owner’s. → Use a different address for the new venue.
- It’s your venue’s email, but you sign in with a different address. → Sign in with the address you normally use. On a phone, tap Already have an account? on the first screen (see Signing in on another device).
- An older version of the phone app. → Update the app and try again, or sign in with Already have an account?.
Good to know
- Every address NomNom knows counts: any venue’s email, and the sign-in email of any member of staff at any venue — including an old account you no longer use.
- Signing in never creates anything. The code only takes you into the venue you already have.
- You can’t add a venue to your existing account yourself. Each venue signs up on its own; see Running more than one venue on NomNom for switching between them.
