When you sign up, your venue gets a free trial of NomNom, normally 14 days. Everything works during the trial. Here’s what you’ll see as it runs out, what happens when it ends, and how to subscribe — including why there’s no need to wait until the last day.
The countdown banner
For the first week or so you won’t see any reminders. Once there are 7 days or fewer left, a banner appears across the top of NomNom Web, with a Subscribe button:
- With 4 to 7 days left it’s blue and reads, for example, You have 5 days remaining of your NomNom trial.
- In the last 3 days it turns amber, and on the final day it says Your NomNom trial ends today.
Until the trial ends you can close the banner with the X. It comes back the next time you open or reload NomNom Web.
In the phone app, the same message shows at the top of the main screen, without a button (see Why can’t I subscribe from the phone app?).
When the trial ends
From the day after your trial’s last day, the banner turns red and reads Your NomNom free trial has ended. Subscribe to keep using NomNom. It no longer has an X, so it stays at the top of the screen.
That banner is the only change. Nothing is switched off: your team can still take and change bookings in NomNom Web and the phone app, your booking page stays open, and guests can still book online.
Subscribe
1. Start from whichever is handiest. Click Subscribe on the banner. Or open the account menu at the top right, choose Account & Billing and click Set Up Subscription. Or sign in to the portal at nomnom-app.net/admin, open Subscription and click Subscribe now.
2. Check the venue. A page opens showing Subscription for and your venue’s name. If you run more than one venue, make sure it’s the right one, then click Continue to payment.
3. Pay on Stripe’s secure page. It shows the price, and what you’ll pay today, before anything is charged. Enter your payment details and confirm. You’ll see You’re all set.
Once Stripe has set it up, the banner disappears and Billing shows your subscription.
In NomNom Web: account menu → Account & Billing (or Settings → Billing). In the portal: nomnom-app.net/admin → Subscription. The phone app doesn’t offer subscribing.
Subscribing early keeps the rest of your trial
You don’t lose any free days by subscribing before your trial ends. Stripe takes the first payment the day after your trial’s last day, and until then Billing shows your status as Trial. The exception is the last couple of days: subscribe then and the first payment is taken straight away. Either way, Stripe’s page tells you what you’ll pay today before you confirm.
Good to know
- Only admins can subscribe. Everyone sees the banner, but only admins see its Subscribe button.
- Someone else pays the bills? In Billing, click Copy subscription link and send it to them. They can set up the subscription without signing in to NomNom. The link works for 7 days.
- Billing during the trial. Until you subscribe, Billing says No active subscription. That’s expected: the free trial isn’t a subscription.
- Each venue has its own subscription. If you run several, subscribe each one while you’re working in that venue.
- Emails about your trial. We may also email you about your trial. Its Subscribe button goes to the same payment page.
- Cancelling later. A cancelled subscription ends at the end of the period you’ve paid for, and everything keeps working until then. See Changing the card you pay with, and finding your invoices.
