Garden booked for a private party? Terrace closing early because of the forecast? A Disable online booking change stops guests booking one area on your booking page for one date — all day, from a set time, or between two times — while the rest of your venue stays open online. Your team can still book that area as normal.
Stop online bookings in one area
1. Open Schedule Changes. In NomNom Web, click More (the three dots in the top bar) and choose Schedule changes. In the phone app, tap the menu button at the top left, then Schedule Changes.
2. Pick the date. Choose the day on the calendar.
3. Choose Disable online booking. Click New change, then Disable online booking. On the phone, tap Add Schedule Change, then Disable Online Booking.
4. Describe it and check the date. Type a Description if you like, such as Garden: private party — it’s what you’ll see on the calendar. Date is the day you picked; click it to change it.
5. Choose when. All Day, From Time (then set Disable from), or Between (then set From and To).
6. Tick the area. Under Applies to, All Rooms is ticked to start with. Tick the area you want to stop — Garden, say — and All Rooms unticks itself. You can tick more than one.
7. Save. Click Save.
In NomNom Web: More → Schedule changes → pick the date → New change → Disable online booking. In the phone app: menu → Schedule Changes → tap the date → Add Schedule Change → Disable Online Booking.
How the times work
- From Time stops that time and every time after it, to the end of the day.
- Between includes both ends: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm stops the 3:00 pm time too.
- To must be later than From. NomNom won’t save a window that runs the wrong way round or past midnight; to stop the rest of the day, choose From Time instead.
Checking it’s on
The date gets a yellow Online Disabled marker on the Schedule Changes calendar, and the change names the time and the area — Online booking off from 5:00 pm and Garden, for example. On the day itself, NomNom Web shows an Online Disabled pill in the bar along the bottom of the screen: hover over it for the details, or, as an admin, click it to open Schedule Changes. The phone app shows a banner on the bookings screen.
Good to know
- Only one area? You won’t see Applies to: the change stops online bookings for your whole venue.
- Several stops on one date. Add another change for the same date — the garden all day and the whole venue from 9:00 pm, say. They all apply.
- One date per change. To stop several dates, add a change for each.
- Your team isn’t affected. Staff can still book the area in NomNom Web and the phone app, and bookings already made stay as they are.
- Renamed an area? Its stops follow the new name, so there’s nothing to redo.
- Stopping the whole venue all day? Your booking page’s calendar greys the date out, so guests can’t choose it.
- Same-day bookings every day? To stop online bookings for today once a set time has passed, every day, use the meal’s cut-off instead (see Closing online bookings for the day: the online booking cut-off).
- Admins only. Everyone can see schedule changes, but only admins can add or change them (see What Admin, Standard and Read-only staff can do).
