A party of ten won’t fit on one of your four-tops, but three pushed together will. A booking in NomNom can hold as many tables as you need. It shows on each of them on the chart and the floor plan, and every one of them is taken for that time.
Pick several tables as you take the booking
In NomNom Web: New reservation → Tables. In the phone app: the + button → New Reservation → Availability → AVAILABLE TABLES.
1. Start the booking as usual. Set the party size, date, time and meal (see Taking a booking over the phone).
2. Click each table you want under Tables. Every table that’s free for that time and turn length is listed, whatever its size, so you can put two four-tops together for a party of eight. Click a table again to drop it.
3. Check the seat count. Under the tables you’ll see how many tables and seats you’ve picked. If they seat fewer than the party, the line turns amber, for example 8 seats selected for a party of 10. You can still save, but it’s worth a second look.
4. Click Save reservation.
In the phone app, tap each table you want under AVAILABLE TABLES. The bottom of the screen lists what you’ve picked, with the Total capacity selected. Tap Next and carry on as usual.
Add tables to a booking you’ve already taken
In NomNom Web: right-click the booking → Move to table → Select several. In the phone app: tap the booking → Move to → Select multiple.
1. Open Move to table. In NomNom Web, right-click the booking and choose Move to table. In the phone app, tap the booking, then Move to.
2. Switch on Select several. On the phone it’s Select multiple. The tables the booking is already on are ticked for you.
3. Click the tables to add. Click a ticked table to take it off.
4. Click Confirm. The button shows how many tables are ticked, such as Confirm (3). On the phone, tap Confirm Selection.
With Select several off, clicking a table moves the whole party onto just that one table. You can also change the tables in the booking itself: click Edit reservation, pick the tables under Tables, then click Save changes.
Table groups: tables you always join
If you push the same tables together most weeks, an admin can save them as a table group. A group is offered as one choice under Tables, named after its tables (such as 6,7), with the number of seats you give it. That needn’t be the tables added up: two two-tops pushed together might seat five. Groups matter online too, because a guest booking online is only given a single table or a group that seats the whole party (see How NomNom picks a table for an online booking).
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Table groups → Create group. In the phone app: Configuration → Tables → Table Groups.

Good to know
- Each table counts once. After you pick a table in the booking form, any group that includes it is greyed out, so the same table can’t be picked twice.
- Moving part of a party. On the chart the booking has a bar on each table. Drag one bar and only that table changes (see Moving bookings on the chart: drag, swap, bump and undo). Unallocate in the menu takes all its tables away.
- Too few seats? NomNom Web flags a booking whose tables seat fewer than the party. The side panel says, for example, Party of 10 on a table for 8, and the bar along the bottom counts bookings on a table too small. When the tables make up one of your groups exactly, the group’s own seat count is used.
- NomNom won’t join tables by itself. When it picks a table for you, after you click Reserve in Availability for example, it only ever picks one table or group that seats everyone.
- Big parties often stay longer. Give bigger parties a longer turn length (see Setting how long a table is held, including different times on certain days).
