A missing booking is nearly always still there, just out of view: on another day, behind a meal or area filter, or hidden because it’s cancelled. Start with a search, which looks across every date.
Search for it
1. Open Search. In NomNom Web, press / or click the magnifying glass in the top bar. In the phone app, open the menu and tap Search.
2. Type part of their name, phone number, email or booking reference. Results cover every date, best matches first, and cancelled bookings are marked Cancelled.
3. Click the booking. NomNom Web jumps to its date and opens it.
Found it? Then something below is hiding it. If not, see If search can’t find it.
Why a booking is out of view
- You’re on another day. Click Today or press T. The arrows beside the date (or [ and ]) move a day at a time; the calendar in the left-hand bar jumps further.
- A meal is picked. The meals in the left-hand bar filter the day. Click All meals or press 1 (other numbers pick a single meal). A booking in another meal, or with none, only shows under All meals.
- An area is picked. With more than one area, the tabs across the top pick one. Click All rooms, or press R until you’re back to it.
- It’s cancelled. Cancelled bookings are hidden until you tick Show cancelled at the bottom left, or press C. The same bar says how many there are. In the phone app, tap the three dots at the top right, then Show Cancelled Bookings.
- It’s earlier today. Today’s list opens at the NOW line, so earlier bookings are above it. Scroll up.
- You’re on Chart or Plan. On the chart, bookings without a table sit in the Unallocated row at the top; if it’s folded away, click its arrow. The plan only shows bookings with a table in the area you’ve picked. List shows everything.
- The party has left. If When a party has left is set to Hide them (Settings → Reservation Editing), departed bookings drop off the chart and plan, but stay in List.
In the phone app, use the All Meals and All Rooms buttons at the top of your bookings.
Most of the day has vanished
If most of a busy day disappears at once, a filter has almost always changed. Check the meal highlighted in the left-hand bar and the area tab underlined at the top, then press 1 and click All rooms. When nothing is showing at all, the message names the filter: No Dinner bookings for this day, say.
Filters can change without you meaning to. The shortcut keys work whenever you’re not typing in a box, so a stray 2, R or C changes the view. And saving a booking that your current meal or area would hide switches NomNom Web to that booking’s meal or area, so you see it land. On All meals and All rooms, saving never changes the view.
If the day couldn’t be loaded, NomNom says so rather than showing an empty day: you’ll see Couldn’t load bookings. Check your internet connection and click Try again. If it keeps happening, press F5 (see NomNom Web looks out of date: getting the latest version).
If search can’t find it
- It’s at your other venue. Search only looks at the venue you’re on. Switch venue from the venue name in the left-hand bar or the top bar, and search again.
- It’s spelt differently. Try their phone number or email, or just a few letters of their surname.
- They didn’t finish booking online. A booking only exists once the guest completes every step, including any card or deposit. While a guest is part-way through, the chart shows a grey Online booking block on the table, which disappears if they don’t finish. If there’s nothing to find, book them in yourself.
Good to know
- Press ? in NomNom Web to see every keyboard shortcut.
- Moved by someone else? Search shows where it is now. Open it and look at the Audit trail tab in Full details to see what changed.
- Filters only change your own screen. They never remove a booking.
