If you use NomNom Web every day, you can add it to your computer as an app. It gets its own icon and opens in its own window, with no browser tab, so it’s always one click away and never lost among your other tabs. This works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
Add NomNom to your desktop
1. Open NomNom Web from your usual link. In Chrome or Edge, go to the link you normally sign in with, and sign in. The app will open at that same sign-in page.
2. Open the account menu. Click your name or initials at the top right.
3. Click Add to desktop. It’s near the bottom of the menu, just above Sign out (and Admin dashboard, if you’re an admin).
4. Confirm in your browser. Your browser asks whether to install NomNom. Click Install. You’ll see NomNom is being added to your desktop. and NomNom opens in a window of its own.
From then on, open NomNom from its icon, as you would any other app. You can pin it to your taskbar or Dock to keep it handy.
In NomNom Web: account menu (top right) → Add to desktop. There’s no need for this in the phone app, which is already an app.
The one-time reminder
The first time you sign in with Chrome or Edge, you may see a banner across the top of NomNom Web: Install NomNom on your desktop for one-click access — it opens in its own window, no browser tab needed. Click Add to desktop on the banner to do the same as above, or the X to hide it. It only appears once in each browser; the account menu option stays there afterwards.
Can’t see Add to desktop?
- You’re using Safari or Firefox. The option only appears in Chrome and Edge. Switch browser, or keep a bookmark instead. Safari on a Mac has its own Add to Dock in its File menu.
- It’s already installed. The option disappears once NomNom is on your computer, and never shows inside the app window. Open it from its icon.
- You closed the install window without installing. The option can disappear after that. Reload the page and look again, or use your browser’s own menu to install it.
- You’re on a phone or iPad. NomNom Web is for computers. See Why can't I open NomNom Web on my phone or iPad?
Good to know
- It’s the same NomNom. The app is NomNom Web in its own window: the same screens, bookings and settings. It gets new versions the same way too (see NomNom Web looks out of date: getting the latest version).
- Staying signed in. Closing the app window signs you out, just like closing a tab. Tick Keep me signed in on this device when you sign in and it remembers you, as long as you use it at least once every 30 days. See Using NomNom in your web browser.
- Anyone can do it. Add to desktop isn’t just for admins. Each person adds it on their own computer.
- Removing it. Uninstall it the way you’d remove any app your browser added. It doesn’t touch your account or your bookings.
