If you welcome dogs or keep high chairs, you can add both to any booking you take yourself, so the team knows what’s coming before the party arrives. Neither counts as a guest, and neither changes which tables you’re offered.
Before you start
The Dogs options appear once Allow dog bookings is on (see Welcoming guests with dogs). High chairs appear once you’ve said how many you own: under Settings → Online Booking & Discover, in BOOKING OPTIONS, click High chairs available and pick a number from 1 to 20 (Off turns them off). Both are admin settings.
Add them in NomNom Web
1. Open the booking form. Click New reservation, or select a booking and click Edit reservation.
2. Add high chairs. In the Party section, under Adults and Children, set High chairs. It goes up to the number you own.
3. Add dogs. In Notes & allergies, set Dogs. A line appears for each dog: type its breed if you know it, and click S, M or L for its size (click again to clear it). Both are optional.
4. Save. Click Save reservation.
In NomNom Web: New reservation or Edit reservation → Party (high chairs) and Notes & allergies (dogs).
Add them in the phone app
High chairs sit with Adults and Children: on a new booking they’re on the first step, and on an existing one tap High chairs or Guests. For dogs, tap Dogs in the booking’s DOGS section, set how many, add a Breed (optional) and Small, Medium or Large for each dog, and tap Save. Then tap Save Reservation.
In the phone app: open the booking → High chairs, or DOGS → Dogs.
Your team can go past your online limits
The limits you set are for guests booking online. Bookings your team takes aren’t held to them:
- Dogs. Online, a guest can bring no more than your Maximum dogs per booking, and isn’t offered a time with a dog once the bookings at that time already have your Maximum dogs per sitting. Once you’ve marked dog-friendly tables they’re only offered those. Your team can add up to 10 dogs to a booking and seat them at any table, whatever your online limits.
- High chairs. NomNom counts high chairs across the whole meal on that day, in every area, including the ones on your team’s bookings. Once they’re all taken, a guest who asks for one online isn’t offered that meal’s times. Your team can still add them, up to the number you own on any one booking, so it’s possible to promise more chairs than you have. Check the day before you add more.
Where they show
- Dogs put a paw beside the booking in your list and on the chart. The panel beside your bookings lists each dog’s breed and size under Dogs, and the phone app shows them in the booking’s DOGS section.
- High chairs show in the panel beside your bookings and on the booking in the phone app, but not in the list or on the chart.
- Neither prints on the service sheet. If the team needs a reminder on the night, add a line to Internal notes too (see Booking notes and internal notes: what your guest can see).
Good to know
- They aren’t guests. Dogs and high chairs don’t add to your covers, and a high chair doesn’t add a child, so set Children as well.
- Cancelling a booking frees its high chairs for online guests straight away.
- Switching either off later doesn’t touch bookings that already have dogs or high chairs: they keep them.
