Not at the moment. Your booking page is in English, and so are the emails NomNom sends your guests; there isn’t a setting to change that. A couple of things do adjust, though, and anything you write yourself can be in whatever language you like.
What’s in English
- Your booking page: its headings, buttons and messages, from Reserve Your Table through to the summary the guest checks before booking, and the calendar’s month and day names. The same goes for your NomNom Discover page.
- Emails to guests: headings and buttons such as Booking Confirmation and Cancel Reservation.
What follows the guest’s browser
One date does. Once a guest has picked a day, the date shown above the list of times uses the language their browser is set to for the day and month names. So a guest whose browser is in French sees samedi, 17 octobre, 26 there, where most guests see Saturday, 17 October, 26. Everything around it stays in English.
Many browsers can also offer to translate a whole page into the guest’s own language. That’s the browser at work, not NomNom, so we can’t vouch for the wording.
What you can set
Two settings change how times and the calendar look on your booking page.
1. Open Booking Page Date & Time. In NomNom Web, open Settings from the account menu (top right) or the button at the bottom of the left-hand bar, and choose Booking Page Date & Time. Settings is for admins only.
2. Choose a Time format. 12-hour (7:30 pm) shows times such as 7:30 pm; 24-hour (19:30) shows 19:30.
3. Choose when the calendar starts. Calendar starts on is the day each week starts on in your booking page’s calendar. It’s Monday unless you change it.
In NomNom Web: Settings → Booking Page Date & Time. In the phone app: Settings → Booking Page Date & Time.
What you can write in your own words
Text you type into NomNom appears exactly as you wrote it, in any language:
- the Heading and Description on your booking page, and your Large party message, all in Settings → Online Booking & Discover;
- your terms and privacy policy (see Adding your booking terms and privacy policy);
- your text messages to guests (see Texting guests and managing SMS credits);
- the wording you add to your confirmation emails (see Customising your confirmation emails).
The labels and buttons around your words stay in English, so a page written in Welsh, say, still has English buttons.
Good to know
- Your team has more choice than your guests. NomNom itself can be shown in English, Spanish, French, German or Welsh: choose Language in NomNom Web’s account menu, or in Settings in the phone app. It’s a choice for that browser or phone only, and it doesn’t change anything your guests see.
- Time format only changes how times look. The times you offer, and when, come from your meals and booking times, not from this setting.
