Downloading a backup of your bookings (Data Export)

You can download a copy of every booking in your diary as a spreadsheet whenever you like: to keep your own records, before you leave NomNom, or to answer a guest who asks what you hold about them. It’s called Data Export, and it lives in your admin dashboard (the restaurant portal at nomnom-app.net/admin), so only admins can use it.

Make and download an export

1. Open the admin dashboard. In NomNom Web, click your account button in the top-right corner and choose Admin dashboard. Or go to nomnom-app.net/admin in any browser and sign in (see Signing in to the admin portal).

2. Choose Data Export. It’s the last item in the menu on the left. On a phone, the menu is behind the button at the top left.

3. Click Generate export now. A new line appears at the top of the list, with the date and time and, under Rows (reservations), how many bookings are in it.

4. Click Download. You get a zip file. Open it (on Windows, right-click it and choose Extract All) to find the spreadsheet inside, a CSV file that opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.

The admin dashboard's Data Export page, with the Generate export now button and two exports ready to download

In NomNom Web: account button (top right) → Admin dashboard → Data Export. In any browser: nomnom-app.net/admin → Data Export.

What’s in the file

One row per booking, oldest first, from your very first booking to the furthest one ahead in your diary. The columns are:

  • Reference
  • Reservation Date and Reservation Time, written like 2026-10-04 and 19:30.
  • Status: the booking’s status, such as Confirmed or Departed.
  • Cancelled: Yes or No. Cancelled bookings are included, so filter on this column to see only the live ones.
  • First Name, Last Name, Email and Mobile
  • Adults and Children
  • Room and Meal: the area and the meal it was booked in.
  • Tables: more than one table is separated with a | sign.
  • Notes: the booking’s notes, which the guest can see too.
  • Allergies, again separated with a | sign.
  • Online: Yes if the guest booked online.
  • Created: when the booking was made.

The exported spreadsheet: Reference, date, time, status, Cancelled, name and covers, with one cancelled booking marked Yes

What isn’t in it

  • Internal notes, dogs and high chairs.
  • Guests’ VIP stars and guest notes (see Marking a guest as a VIP and keeping notes about them).
  • Card payments, deposits and gift vouchers.
  • The emails and texts you’ve sent.
  • Your settings, meals, areas and tables.
  • Bookings that have been deleted, and the test bookings Google makes while it checks your Reserve with Google connection.

Good to know

  • Admins only. Standard and Read-only staff can’t sign in to the admin dashboard (see Your restaurant portal at nomnom-app.net/admin).
  • One venue at a time. An export covers the venue named at the top of the page. Use Switch venue at the top right to export another.
  • The 30 most recent exports are kept. Older ones are removed as you make new ones, so download anything you want to keep.
  • Exports aren’t automatic. One is only made when you click Generate export now.
  • Created is in GMT. From late March to late October it reads an hour behind the clock. The booking’s own date and time are your venue’s local time.
  • Keep it safe. The file holds your guests’ names, emails and phone numbers, so store it somewhere secure and delete copies you no longer need.
  • Erased guests. A guest you’ve erased shows as Erased guest in new exports, but exports made before that still have their details (see Erasing a guest’s personal details).
