You’ve switched a meal off for online booking, yet a guest has booked it online for one particular date. Almost always, that date has a schedule change giving the meal custom times.
Why it happens
When you change a meal’s times for a date with Modify times, the times you save replace its usual ones on that date, and each time has its own ONLINE tick. On that date, those ticks decide whether guests can book the meal online, whatever the meal’s Bookable online switch says. That’s deliberate: it’s how you open a staff-only meal to online guests for one special day.
The catch is that switching a meal off online doesn’t untick its times. So when you change that meal’s times for a date — even just to alter a capacity — its times usually come across with ONLINE still ticked. A time you add with Add Times also starts with Available online switched on.
How to fix it
1. Open Schedule changes. In NomNom Web, click the three dots (More) in the top bar and choose Schedule changes. In the phone app, open the menu and tap Schedule Changes.
2. Open the date’s custom times. Pick the date on the calendar and its changes are listed alongside. Custom times are marked Custom Times and name the meal. Click the change to open it.
3. Choose the meal. It’s marked Modified. Its times are listed with an IN-HOUSE and an ONLINE box on each.
4. Untick ONLINE. Untick the ONLINE box on each time. With a lot of times, click Select All, then Modify → Disable online booking.
5. Save. Click Save. Your team can still book those times, but guests online can’t.
In NomNom Web: More → Schedule changes → pick the date → the Custom Times change. In the phone app: menu → Schedule Changes → pick the date → the Custom Times change.
Good to know
- Meant to open it online that day? Leave ONLINE ticked. The meal stays staff-only on every other date.
- Opening a meal works the same way. If you used Close / open meals to open a meal on a day it doesn’t normally run, Guests can book online decides whether guests can book it. It’s off unless you switch it on.
- One change can cover several dates. Custom times can be set for a date range, and fixing the change fixes every date in it.
- Restore Defaults puts the meal back on its usual times for that date, so it’s staff-only again — but you lose the custom times you set for it.
- To stop it happening again, untick the meal’s times in the WEB column under Configuration → Times in NomNom Web, as well as switching the meal off. Custom times you set later then start with ONLINE unticked.
- No online bookings at all for part of a day? Use New change → Disable online booking instead (see Closing dates and one-off changes).
