The header image is the picture across the top of your online booking page. It can be a photo of your venue or your logo. The same image heads your confirmation emails and your Discover-style page, and appears on a few other pages guests see, such as your event pages.
Add your header image
1. Open your online booking settings. In NomNom Web, open Settings from the account menu at the top right (or the button at the bottom of the left-hand bar) and choose Online Booking & Discover. You’ll need to be an admin.
2. Click the picture box under HEADER IMAGE. Until you add an image it says Tap to set header image.
3. Choose Select Photo and pick your image. In the phone app you can also choose Take Photo. It uploads straight away.
4. Choose how it’s shown. Click Display and pick Photo or Logo (see below). The preview box changes to match.
In NomNom Web and the phone app: Settings → Online Booking & Discover → HEADER IMAGE.
Photo or logo?
Photo fills the top of the page from edge to edge. It’s cropped to fit and slightly darkened so your name, in white, stands out over it. A wide landscape photo works best, with the important part in the middle.
Logo shows the whole image, uncropped and in its true colours, on a plain band, with your restaurant name and address underneath. Two more settings appear:
- Background is the colour of the band. Match my logo picks up the colour from the corner of your logo image, or choose White, Cream, Light grey or Dark.
- Show restaurant name: switch it off if your logo already spells out your name. Your address still shows.
If you upload something that isn’t a wide picture while Display is on Photo, NomNom asks Looks like a logo. Click Show in full to switch to Logo, with the band coloured to match your logo where it can, or Keep as photo.
Where else it appears
- Your emails to guests, such as confirmations, open with it. As a photo it’s a wide banner; as a logo it’s smaller and centred, on your Background colour. See Customising your confirmation emails.
- The Discover-style booking page and your NomNom Discover page follow your Display choice too. As a photo, it’s a large picture behind your name, cropped and darkened, and any photos under DISCOVER PHOTOS fade in after it. As a logo, it’s shown whole on a white card above your name, and your DISCOVER PHOTOS, if you’ve added any, fill the header behind it.
Not sure which design your page uses? See What your guests see when they book online, step by step.
Change or remove it
Click the image to see Select Photo (to replace it), View Photo and Clear Photo. Clear Photo asks you to confirm with Clear. With no image, the booking page shows your name on a plain band, and your emails start without a picture.
Good to know
- It’s the same image as in Restaurant Details. RESTAURANT IMAGE under Settings → Restaurant Details is this image too, so changing one changes the other.
- Give it a few minutes. A new image can take a few minutes to replace the old one on your booking page. Refresh the page to check.
- Admins only. Other staff don’t see Settings.
- Check it with Test Online Booking near the bottom of the same screen.
