If you’re listed on NomNom Discover, your page can show your star rating from Google, with the number of Google reviews and a link to read them. NomNom doesn’t collect reviews of its own: the rating is Google’s, and NomNom fetches it for you. There’s nothing to set up.
Where it shows
On your Discover page, the rating sits near the top: stars, your rating to one decimal place, how many Google reviews you have and a Read reviews on Google link. A line under your About section says the rating comes from your Google listing and that NomNom doesn’t host its own reviews. On Discover’s town pages, your card shows the stars, the rating and the number of reviews in brackets.
Where it comes from and how often it updates
NomNom uses the Google listing linked to your account — normally the one you picked from Google’s results when you signed up. While you’re listed, NomNom checks it about once a day, so a change on Google reaches your page within a day or so. When you first list, the rating usually appears within an hour or two.
To see whether NomNom has your Google listing, open Email Settings, click Follow-up and look under REVIEW LINKS. If Google review link is blank and says Generated from your Google listing — nothing to do, it’s linked. A link you type into Google review link yourself is only used in your follow-up emails; it doesn’t give NomNom your rating.

Why isn’t my rating showing?
- You’re not listed → The rating only shows on a live Discover listing, so turn on List on NomNom Discover (see Listing your restaurant on NomNom Discover). A Discover-style booking page for a venue that isn’t listed never shows stars, though its Read reviews on Google link is still there.
- You’ve only just listed → Give it an hour or two.
- NomNom doesn’t have your Google listing → This happens if you didn’t pick your restaurant from Google’s results when you signed up. There’s no setting to add it yourself, so get in touch with us.
- Your Google listing has no reviews yet → NomNom shows no stars at all rather than a rating of 0.
Good to know
- It’s Google’s number. There’s no setting in NomNom to change the rating or hide it.
- A missed check doesn’t wipe it. If Google doesn’t answer one day, your page keeps its last rating until the next successful check.
- Stars are rounded. The stars round to the nearest whole star; the number beside them is to one decimal place.
- Tripadvisor. NomNom never shows a Tripadvisor score. If your page has no Google stars and you’ve added your restaurant’s Tripadvisor page as the Tripadvisor link under REVIEW LINKS, it shows a Read reviews on Tripadvisor link instead. That needs to be your restaurant’s review page on Tripadvisor, not the write-a-review form.
- Coming back to Discover. If you take your listing down, the rating stops updating. List again and it’s refreshed at the next check.
