Letting guests ask for high chairs

If families book with you, let guests tell you how many high chairs they need when they book online. Tell NomNom how many you own, and it makes sure online bookings never ask for more than you have left.

Set how many high chairs you have

1. Open your online booking settings. In NomNom Web, open Settings from the account menu at the top right, or from the button at the bottom of the left-hand bar, and choose Online Booking & Discover. You’ll need to be an admin.

2. Click High chairs available. It’s under BOOKING OPTIONS, and says Off until you set it.

3. Pick how many you own. Choose a number from 1 to 20. It saves straight away.

In NomNom Web: Settings → Online Booking & Discover → High chairs available. In the phone app: Settings → Online Booking & Discover → High chairs available.

What your guests see

On the first step of your booking page, after the number of guests, guests are asked High chairs needed? They can pick from 0 up to the number you own. It starts on 0, so nobody has to answer. The number they choose is shown in their booking summary before they confirm, and saved on the booking.

How NomNom counts them

High chairs are counted across the whole meal on that day, in every area. Every booking for that meal counts, whatever time it’s at.

Say you own 4. A family books Sunday lunch at 12:00 with 2 high chairs, and another books 13:30 with 2. That’s all 4 for Sunday lunch, so a guest asking for a high chair isn’t offered any Sunday lunch time online — not even 15:00, after the first family has gone. Sunday dinner starts again with all 4.

  • Only guests who ask are affected. Anyone who leaves it on 0 books as normal.
  • Every booking counts, including the ones your team takes. A cancelled booking gives its high chairs back.
  • Meals are matched by name. If your restaurant and your garden both have a meal called Lunch, they share one count.
  • A guest who needs more than are left isn’t offered that meal online. They can choose another meal or day, or ring you.

Adding high chairs to bookings you take

Once you’ve set a number, a High chairs counter appears under Adults and Children when your team takes a booking: in the Party section in NomNom Web, and on the Guests screen in the phone app. Your team isn’t limited by how many are left, but the high chairs they add count towards the online total. See Which limits apply to your team’s bookings, and which only apply online.

To see how many high chairs a booking has, open it: they’re shown in the side panel in NomNom Web, and in the booking’s details in the phone app.

Good to know

  • Check the booking, not the email. High chairs aren’t shown on the guest’s confirmation email or on the printed service sheet.
  • Turning it off. Set High chairs available back to Off. The question disappears from your booking page, and bookings that already have high chairs keep them.
  • Bought more? Change the number at any time. It applies to the next online booking.
