When a party is too big for any one table, you push tables together. A table group tells NomNom about it: tables 11 and 12, say, joined to seat eight. A group can be booked just like a table, by your team and by guests online, and booking it takes every table in it.
Create a group
1. Open Table groups. In NomNom Web, open Configuration from your account menu at the top right, or from the button at the bottom of the left-hand bar, and choose Table groups. If you have more than one area, click it under Room first: a group is made from tables in one area.
2. Pick the tables. Click Create group and tick two or more tables. The bottom of the window adds up how many tables and seats you’ve picked. Click Next.
3. Check the group’s settings. Table size (seats) starts at the total seats of the tables you picked. Lower it if you lose a seat or two where the tables meet. Everything else works as it does for a single table: Priority, Available days, Online booking, Smallest party online and Dog friendly.
4. Click Create group. The group joins the list, named after its tables, such as 11,12.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Table groups → Create group. In the phone app: Configuration → Tables → Add → Create Table Group.
In the phone app, choose the area at the top of the Tables screen before you tap Add. Tick the tables, tap Next, check the settings and tap Save. To see your groups, switch the bar at the bottom of the list to Table Groups.
How a group gets booked
- Online. NomNom gives each party the smallest free table or group that seats them all. Between a group and a single table of the same size, the single table goes first. See How NomNom picks a table for an online booking.
- By your team. When you take a booking, groups are offered alongside your tables, named after their tables. In NomNom Web, picking a group greys out the tables in it.
- All or nothing. A group is only free when every table in it is. A booking on table 11 takes the 11,12 group off for that time, and a booking on the group takes both 11 and 12.
- On the chart and floor plan, a booking on a group shows on each of its tables.
A group has its own settings
A group’s days, online booking, smallest party and dog settings belong to the group. They don’t follow the tables in it. Switch table 11 off for online booking, or take it out on Mondays, and the 11,12 group can still be booked online, or on a Monday. So set the group too, from its own row under Table groups: the WEB switch, the paw in the DOG column, or click its name to open all its settings.

Good to know
- A table can be in more than one group, such as 11,12 and 11,12,13. Only one of them can be booked at a time.
- You can’t change which tables are in a group. Delete it with the bin on its row and create a new one.
- Deleting a table deletes its groups too. Any group it was part of goes with it, and the delete confirmation names them. Create a new group from the tables that are left if you still need one.
- Priority only breaks a tie between tables or groups of the same size.
- Groups aren’t drawn on the floor plan. Only the tables in them are.
- Big parties online need a group. For your regular meals, a party bigger than your biggest table or group can’t be given a table online.
