If you have been quoted for ResDiary, or you are trying to work out what it would cost before you book a demo, the good news is that ResDiary is one of the few big booking systems that actually publishes its UK prices. The less good news is that the monthly figure is only part of the bill. There is a set-up fee, a menu of paid add-ons, a surcharge on payments, and contract terms that matter more than the headline price.
This guide sets out what ResDiary charges UK venues in 2026, taken from ResDiary's own pricing page and terms, and works through what two typical venues would actually pay. We make NomNom, a rival booking system, and we say so up front. Where ResDiary does something better, we have said that too.
ResDiary's UK plans and prices
ResDiary sells its current product as ResDiary Evo, in four packages. Every package has the same core features; the only difference is how many bookings a month it allows. These are the prices on ResDiary's UK (GBP) pricing page as of September 2026:
| Plan | Monthly | Paid annually | Bookings per month |
| Connect | £109 + VAT | £1,308 + VAT | Up to 150 |
| Express | £145 + VAT | £1,450 + VAT | Up to 450 |
| Pro | £205 + VAT | £2,050 + VAT | Up to 1,000 |
| Ultimate | £295 + VAT | £2,950 + VAT | Unlimited |
A few things sit underneath those numbers:
- A £99 set-up fee applies, according to the same page.
- VAT is on top. Connect is £130.80 a month once 20% VAT is added; Ultimate is £354.
- You pay in advance, for the month or the year ahead, from the date you sign up.
- Paying annually saves two months on Express, Pro and Ultimate. The annual Connect price shown (£1,308) is twelve times the monthly price, so check that one if you are choosing Connect.
- Going over your limit moves you up a plan. ResDiary's product terms say your package "will automatically be upgraded" to the next one if you exceed its reservation limit. A venue that averages 900 bookings a month on Pro, then has a busy December, should budget for Ultimate.
What ResDiary gets right here is worth saying plainly: it charges no commission on bookings, wherever they come from, including its own diner platforms. Your bill does not go up per cover. It goes up in steps, by booking volume.
The add-ons
Several things many venues expect in a booking system are paid extras on ResDiary. From its UK pricing page:
| Add-on | Price |
| Pre-orders (with Stripe payments) | £35 a month |
| Gift vouchers | £35 a month |
| ResPhone (takes bookings when you can't get to the phone) | £35 a month |
| Event Manager | £35 a month |
| SMS | £10 a month, plus SMS fees |
| Group central reservations | £10 a month |
| POS integration | £10 a month |
| PMS integration (hotels) | £10 a month |
| CRM / marketing integration | £10 a month |
All add-on prices are plus VAT. None of them is compulsory, and a small venue may need none. But a venue that wants text reminders and gift vouchers is adding £45 a month before it has taken a booking.
The payment surcharge
ResDiary's UK pricing page says a surcharge of 1.2% applies to deposits and payments, and 3% to gift vouchers, and that Stripe fees may also apply. So on top of Stripe's own card fees, £4,000 of deposits in a year costs a further £48, and £5,000 of gift vouchers costs a further £150. (ResDiary's international pricing page gives the deposit figure as 1%; the UK page says 1.2%.)
For balance: most booking systems pass on card-processing fees in some form, and we are no exception on vouchers. NomNom takes no cut of booking deposits, but it does take a platform fee on gift vouchers, which the voucher settings show before you switch them on.
The contract
This is the part to read most carefully. ResDiary is owned by The Access Group, and ResDiary's product terms sit on top of Access's standard terms and conditions. Those standard terms say that, where your order does not specify a different period, the agreement runs for an initial term of 36 months, then renews automatically for 12 months at a time unless either side gives 90 days' notice. They also allow fees to rise once in each contract year.
Your order may well set a different term, especially on a monthly plan, so we are not saying every ResDiary venue is on a three-year contract. We are saying that the default is three years, and you should find the term, the renewal date and the notice period in your own order before you sign. If you are already a customer, note the date 90 days before your renewal now.
Two other terms worth knowing about: the booking widget carries ResDiary branding, and automated post-dining emails must be switched on, carrying a link for the guest to leave a review on ResDiary's own website.
What would your venue actually pay?
Two worked examples, using only the published list prices above. Both exclude VAT, the payment surcharge and Stripe's fees.
A café taking about 120 bookings a month fits Connect. On monthly billing that is £109 × 12 = £1,308, plus the £99 set-up fee: £1,407 in the first year. Add SMS reminders and it is £1,527.
A busy bistro taking about 600 bookings a month, with SMS reminders and gift vouchers, needs Pro. Paid annually, that is £2,050, plus £45 a month of add-ons (£540 a year), plus the £99 set-up fee: £2,689 in the first year. If a good month takes it past 1,000 bookings, it moves up to Ultimate.
| First year, before VAT | Café (~120 bookings/mo) | Bistro (~600 bookings/mo) |
| ResDiary | £1,407 (Connect) | £2,689 (Pro + SMS + vouchers) |
| NomNom | £359.88 | £359.88 + SMS credits |
What you get for the money
It would be unfair to compare prices without comparing what they buy. ResDiary is a mature, deep system that has been running since 2006, and a few things genuinely set it apart:
- Diner exposure. ResDiary venues get a Dish Cult listing and can connect to DesignMyNight, which ResDiary says reaches up to 3.9 million users a month. If you want a diner platform to send you new customers without paying commission, that is real value.
- Depth for groups and hotels. Group central reservations, PMS integration and ResPhone are built for operators running several sites or a hotel restaurant.
- Pre-orders and events as ready-made modules (paid, but there).
- Round-the-clock support and unlimited users on every plan.
If you run a hotel restaurant or a group of six sites and you want all of that, ResDiary's pricing can make sense.
How NomNom compares
NomNom costs £29.99 a month per venue, plus VAT, with a 14-day free trial, no set-up fee and no contract. There are no booking-volume tiers, so a record month costs the same as a quiet one, and there is nothing to be upgraded into.
That one price includes commission-free online booking on your own branded page, deposits and card holds through Stripe (with no NomNom cut on deposits), a customer database, gift vouchers, events, reminders by email, and the phone apps and NomNom Web on as many devices as you like. SMS texts are bought as pay-as-you-go credits rather than as a monthly add-on.
Where we are honestly behind: NomNom has nothing like DesignMyNight's audience, no pre-order module yet, and no PMS integration for hotels. If those matter to you, weigh them.
If you are on ResDiary now and it is the contract that is keeping you there, we will wait it out with you: however many months you have left, up to 12, NomNom is free for that long, and we will move your bookings across. Here's how switching works.
So, how much does ResDiary cost?
For a UK venue in 2026: £109 to £295 a month plus VAT, depending on how many bookings you take, plus a £99 set-up fee, plus any add-ons at £10 to £35 a month each, plus a 1.2% surcharge on deposits and payments and 3% on gift vouchers. Busy venues are moved up a plan automatically. And unless your order says otherwise, the standard Access Group terms start at three years with 90 days' notice.
ResDiary deserves credit for publishing its prices and for charging no commission. Just price the whole thing, not the headline, and read the contract term before you sign.
