NomNom vs ResDiary: published price against quote-only
We make NomNom, so treat this as our side of the argument with the numbers left in. ResDiary is the incumbent for a lot of UK independents and it earns that — it is mature, operations-deep and genuinely commission-free on bookings. The two real differences are what you can find out before you talk to anyone, and how much of the system is included in the headline figure.

NomNom
One plan, one published price, everything in: commission-free booking on your own branded page, Stripe deposits and card holds, SMS reminders, an allergy-aware guest database, gift vouchers, multiple venues and unlimited devices. No contract, no setup fee, 14-day free trial. The honest gap is discovery: there is no diner marketplace.
ResDiary
Established, operations-led and group-friendly, built around table management, yield rules and floor flow. Genuinely commission-free on bookings, but the price is quote-only, payments carry a surcharge, and several capabilities other systems bundle (SMS, pre-orders, events, vouchers) are paid add-ons.
So which should you choose?
On capability at the top end, ResDiary has more: deeper yield rules, a longer integration list and Dish Cult for discovery. On cost transparency, we publish £29.99 and they quote. The add-ons are where the gap widens for a small site — SMS and gift vouchers are separately billed on ResDiary and included with us, and their 1.2% on deposits and 3% on vouchers has no equivalent here. If you run several sites with complex yield management, look hard at ResDiary. If you run one or two and want the bill to be one line, that is the case for us.

Common questions
Are NomNom and ResDiary both commission-free?
Yes, on bookings. Neither takes a per-cover cut. The difference is around the edges: ResDiary adds 1.2% on deposits and payments and 3% on gift vouchers, and bills SMS, events, pre-orders and vouchers as separate add-ons. NomNom includes vouchers and reminders in the £29.99.
What does ResDiary do that NomNom does not?
ResDiary has deeper yield-management rules, a much longer list of EPOS and property-management integrations, and Dish Cult for diner discovery. For multi-site groups with complex covers management, those are real advantages.

Prices and features were accurate to the best of our knowledge on 11 August 2026, summarised from each vendor's own published information and from third-party trackers. Where a vendor does not publish pricing we say so rather than quoting an estimate as though it were a list price. Booking system pricing changes often — always confirm the current figure with the vendor before you sign anything.
