Meals are the services you offer — lunch, dinner, afternoon tea — and times are the slots guests can book in each. You set both up once, under Configuration, and they repeat every week. Only admins can open Configuration.
Add your meals
1. Open Meals. In NomNom Web, click Configuration at the bottom of the left-hand bar, then Meals. In the phone app, open the menu, tap Configuration, then the Meals tab.
2. Pick the area. If you have more than one, click its name next to Room. Each area has its own meals.
3. Add a meal. Click Add meal, then click one of the Suggestions, or type a name under Or enter a custom name and click Add meal. Copy from another area starts it with the settings another area already uses. On the phone, tap Edit, then Add Meal, pick a suggestion or Other (custom name)..., and tap Done.
4. Set it up. Click the meal to open its Details, Durations and Payments.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Meals. In the phone app: Configuration → Meals.
What each meal’s settings do
- Bookable online puts the meal on your booking page. While it’s on you’ll also see Online maximum guests (see Limiting how many guests can book online), Online booking cut-off and Minimum notice (see Requiring more notice for certain meals).
- Default duration is how long a booking holds its table. Bigger parties can have longer on the Durations tab (see Setting how long a table is held, including different times on certain days).
- Active from and Active until run the meal between two dates only; Always leaves that end open. On the phone it’s Active dates.
- Payments holds the meal’s card and deposit rules (see Setting up deposits and card requirements on a meal).
In NomNom Web each change saves as you make it, and All changes saved shows once it has. On the phone, tap Save.
To rename or delete a meal, use the pencil or bin beside it (on the phone, tap Edit first). Bookings keep a deleted meal, and its times and deposit settings are kept in case you add it back.
Add your booking times
1. Open Times and pick the meal. Click Times in Configuration, then the meal next to Meal. With more than one area, leave Room on All rooms (default), the times every area shares, unless an area needs its own (see Different booking times for different rooms).
2. Click Add times. Choose Single time, or Time range with a From, a To and an Interval. A range makes a time at each step, including the To time.
3. Fill in the rest. Max guests is the most guests who can book that time online (0 means no limit). Leave Turn length on Default to use the meal’s. Untick any Days it doesn’t run, then click Add times.
On the phone, tap Add Times, then Add single time or Add time range, and Save.
In NomNom Web: Configuration → Times → Add times. In the phone app: Configuration → Times → Add Times.
Changing your times
Each row shows the TIME, its MAX, the DAYS it runs and whether it’s on the WEB; NomNom Web adds TURN and VENUE. Click a value to change one time (on the phone, tap the time). For several, tick them, click Modify and choose an action, such as Disable web booking or Set max guests...; Delete removes them. On the phone, tap Edit in the bottom bar first.
Good to know
- MAX only limits online bookings. Your team can still book.
- New times go online straight away. Switch WEB off for any you only want to take yourself.
- Adding a time that’s already there replaces it.
- VENUE is the most guests your whole venue takes at that time, set with Venue limits (see Capping guests at one time across your whole venue).
- One date different? Use a schedule change (see Closing dates and one-off changes).
