The Cornish Arms

Award-Winning Pub Dining in the Heart of Tavistock, on the Edge of Dartmoor

4.61194 Google reviewsRead reviews on Google ↗

The Cornish Arms is a proud British pub set on West Street in the heart of Tavistock, at the foothills of Dartmoor National Park. Run by husband and wife duo John and Emma Hooker, we've built our reputation on honest, flavour-packed cooking, proper pints, and a warm welcome for everyone who walks through the door — locals and visitors, drinkers and diners alike.

Our kitchen is committed to sourcing the best local and seasonal produce, turning it into dishes that combine classic pub appeal with careful, detailed execution. From starters like ham hock Scotch egg with blue cheese and beer-pickled onions, through to mains of butter-roasted guinea fowl or grilled fillets of fresh fish, every plate is put together with thought and pride. And we'd never let you leave without trying one of our legendary puddings.

Recognised with a Michelin Bib Gourmand for quality cooking at great value, and a regular in the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs list, The Cornish Arms is a place where the food is serious but the atmosphere never is. Grab a table in the restaurant, pull up a stool at the bar, or settle into our covered beer garden — dogs are welcome too. We'd love to see you.
