The Merrymoor has been a genuine family affair for generations. The inn was purchased by the current family's grandfather, Sidney Evans, in 1961, and across three generations they have continued to provide good beer, good food and accommodation by the beach. That long-standing pride shows in the kitchen, where locally sourced food is prepared and cooked on the premises, with fish featuring prominently on the menu.

Expect a relaxed, unfussy menu with something to suit everyone. There's a variety of dining options, including fresh seafood and traditional pub favourites, with dishes like fish and chips, burgers and daily specials. The handpicked crab roll and the fish and chips are frequently singled out for their quality, and a carvery is served on Sundays. Mornings start gently too, with full English breakfasts, coffees, cappuccinos and muffins on offer. Gluten-free dishes are available, and the friendly team are happy to help with a range of dietary needs.

Food is served throughout the day, with breakfast from 9.30am to 11am, lunch from 12pm to 2.30pm and dinner from 6pm to 9pm, seven days a week. On warmer days, the outdoor seating is especially popular, thanks to the lovely views, while the spacious bar and family room keep things comfortable whatever the Cornish weather. The Merrymoor is also dog-friendly and has parking nearby, making it an easy and inviting place to gather with family and friends after a day by the coast.
